As for random events, transgalactic invasion army. Some alien race from another Galaxy or unknown part of the galaxy arrives, like the borg, and declares war on all minors and majors at the same time. Then all the races would have a vote and choice to band together in a grand alliance, survive alone, or perhaps try to get on the aliens good side and backstab everyone else. This could add a huge dynamic to the game. Later games would have allies with differing idealogies positioning their fleets

The reason I like GalCiv2 over GC or even is because the developers. They keep adding new features and tweaking the game to make it more enjoyable. Also, they made the game so I can tweak it myself, without any knowledge except game play experience. A lot of game play mechanics are different from GCI, SHIP DESIGNER!!! Sorry, had to shout, but this is a really cool feature. Not only can you graphically create unique designs, but you can build and adjust

So there is someway to take this designs and use them? Would I have to research certain techs first, or could I just take any massive ship design, with any firepower, and simply use one of these? These are hella awesome, I could see myself playing GC II even more just to see these pretty ships duke it out.

Be careful what you wish for. I made some evil choices and half my planets formed a new minor race of evil frogmen called the Fundamentalists. You will be sorry when the frogmen set you back 6 months of research and production!

If you consider what cultural conquest is, its surprising it doesnt take 100 years or more. In fact, I wish it took much longer and the tech tree were 4x as long. I got a bad position in a custom gigantic map and I feel like I will be playing this same map for the next month. You think you could flip your elderly next door neighbors over to your video game culture in less than eternity?

You can try researching entertainment techs too. You get an immediate bonus from that, and often you get trade goods that boost morale as well as a result. Also, as you progress down the trade techs, you can eventually build stock markets which also give a morale boost ( I think). So really, you dont need to build entertainment, I only do if overall approval ratings drop below 65, if I am using Interstellar Republic. If not, then I dont care much about it. Might be a problem on higher difficult

Anyone pay attention to what the rating is when they flip. I mean the influence ratio. On normal settings I flipped some planets at around 5-6, but that planet had the skull and crossbones symbol for a long time. Another planet I have at ratio of 14, but they still have not flipped. Very isolated planet too.
