Just curious, has anyone ever actually had an ally who you had good relations with surrender to you when another race was about to beat them, because as far as i've seen this never happens.

And FYI, there are no "growth penalties." In fact, there are no negative traits in GalCivII at all.

Is anyone else frustrated with the surrender option. Namely, the fact that the AI seems almost eager to surrender in many cases. For example, in one of my games the Drengin started way off in a corner with no one near them, but little space to colonize (they had 3 systems and 4 planets).
