Just because your system runs it stable, doesn't mean it is the parent poster's system that is the problem. I have the same crashing problem, a brand new system with the latest drivers, plenty of ram, etc. and this game crashes enough to make it pretty much unplayable. It is not my system as it is 100% stable with pretty much everything else I throw at it. I have provided detailed error logging, and have not received even a suggestion as to what it might be (other than overheating

I have to say I am as frustrated as the parent poster. While I think the game itself is great, I get enough CTDs to make the game almost unplayable once I get far enough into a session. I can tell you that it is NOT my video cards overheating. My temps never get anywhere above 54C on the cards, my drivers are completely up to date, and my system is a new build hardware wise. My system is 100% stable other than this game. I can run Prime95 for days, and games like FEAR and COD2

Here is some of the SmartException info for recent crashes...I've excluded the entire debug info, let me know if you need it. I read the journal entry on heat today, but I really don't think that's it as far as the crashing (at least in my case). This system is well ventilated and rock solid running other graphically intensive games. Is there any chance this isn't playing nice with SLI rigs? Anyways, it's very frustrating because all of the crashing is making the game nearly unplayable.

I started another game, and was able to play for quite awhile but now it is crashing to the desktop again... Any update on this issue? I ran the stand alone updater, but the game is still crashing after a few turns. Hi- I will run it from the downloads, but it did say installed in Stardock Central before. It is listing GC2 as 1.0D1.008 updated today (I ran it earlier), and SC says it is version 2.30.376 build 120. Maybe something got screwed up with the update installing.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't think it's the video card temps though; the case is pretty well ventilated. Just to give a little more system info... I'm running 7800GTs in SLI mode. Temps have not gotten above 54C on card1 and 45C on card2 as checked right after the crash. It's an AMD X2 4200 dual core, but I am running GC II on one core only. I didn't seem to have any crashing problems until I ran the update today. I'm trying to get you

I just ran the update for Galactic Civ II, and now my game seems to be crashing to the desktop very frequently.
