Not a lawyer, so where I get a bit lost is with point 3 is where you've said they hold the copyrights by can't use Orz & Ur-Quan. If they hold the copyrights, can't they use the aliens in their own works? (In the same way that the person who held the copyright on K9 from Dr Who was able to do a non-Dr Who K9 series as well ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K-9_(TV_series) ) as get paid when the character was in Dr Who? Or another Dr Who example, where the estate of writer of the original ep

What a Kobayashi Maru. I guess staying publicly positive, reiterating your deep admiration for them, and that you'd love to take them to an expensive lunch is the course of action I'd try if I was in your shoes. Hope it is some form of deep misunderstanding on their part rather than malice. Hard to stop things trending toxic when lawyers get involved, but hope that you're able to (at least publicly) keep up that positive attitude towards them that you've always shown.
Like the idea of the static map with lots of little secrets tucked away. At some point someone will try to collate them into a list that gets constantly added to and years later you'll google for it to make sure you've ticked off all those weird little things when you do a nostalgic playthrough.
It's interesting / odd / unusual that there isn't any email newsletter for founders either. I keep some tabs open to this forum in my browser and come back every now and then, but usually when I'm in some sort of early access program there is some sort of regular email update. Here it's very much checking back in and hoping that something may have been posted in the founder's vault.

It's something that I forget fairly frequently - at least I posted a note this time in Evernote about the location
It feels like there are a million combat games, but very few amazingly written adventure games. While I'm sure there are some people who are all about melee, when I talk to people about SC2 they mostly remember the adventure.
Multi-dimensional shenanigans also provides a quick narrative out to why SC2 aliens aren't resent. They are just from a different reality stub.
Really chuffed to be a part of this. Failed 2nd year Comp Sci because I couldn't step away from StarCon II. Life worked out anyway and I don't really regret it (though I warn my kid never to fail anything for a computer game unless it is so good he's talking about it almost a quarter of a century later) Love the idea of the possible alternate reality. I'm not 100% on my StarCon Lore - but I got the impression that perhaps the AndroSynth and Orz had a confrontation that
