Just a quick side note on dvd's. Most libraries have a decent selection and it's FREE! And they aren't all educational dvd's. We've signed out Matrix, Terminator, etc. Also when you tire of your dvd's you can donate them to the library. We did this with BARNEY. Good article. Uh, I don't get the bathtub thing though.

I am glad not to be the only one with a teacher that needs an attitude adjustment. My son't teacher told me "HAHAH SORRY about your luck!" When I told her he hadn't had a certain style of math at our last home. And she was SERIOUS! When she stopped laughing I said, "NOw that the joke is over can you provide me with the resources to teach him what he missed or tell me where to get them?" Answer: Shrug. "I dunno. We really don't l

Thanks inbloom! There are a lot of organizations and groups around who help in just this sort of thing. It just seems to be taking forever to get them jump started. I am glad we caught this at two and not at 5 and 6 like we are being told is the normal age...when teachers start making referrals. whew,

It is a stickier situation with the girls than the boys. I asked my 8yr old if he thought anything about the kids who wear their sports uniforms to school and he said "Why? Should I?" Man I love that boy! The beauty that is B-O-Y! They really do rule. We were at a fair this summer and there wa

For colleen when I am not home {that's rare these days} she is fully trained and has her very own browning hi-power 9mm parabellum 14 shot clip 15 if she keeps one in the snout, {she does not} I have guns. Just locked up so the kids can't get them....with the ammo clear across the house. Glad

This is my last post tonight. It is late and there is a severe storm kicking up its heals outside. Don't want to get zapped! So, to the point, anyone have a security system? If so what brand, type, whatever. I am thinking about one since I am alone here with the kids most of the time. We're in a good area with low crime, but big deal. On

Thanks, he does communicate very well, just not with words. You are right of course. My first son is fine and I still found things to worry about with him. I love them so much, I just hate to see anything wrong with them. They deserve a better mom that's for sure. ha! But no one is getting them! I figure I have the rest of my life to work.....and staying home with the kids was negotiated before they came along since hubby

Thank you Texas. I actually do a bunch of things outside the home usually. But we just moved here so I am still setting up house. Even when I am busy with my volunteer activities, well to be frank, it doesn't make me a better mom. I am no June Cleaver but I raise my kids out of love and responsibility. I have girl friends who are so good at being moms. They are always their kids "safe place to fall." (Sorry for the Dr Philism but they ba

I agree, but sometimes you can be lonely in a room full of people, know what I mean? Give it time. You sound like a believer so in the vein let me say that God has someone in mind for you. He created us to have a significant other...He didn't like to see Adam alone, it was not "good." So He sure isn't going to let you stay single. There is a book called, "Falling in Love with Jesus" I thought the title was corny but my single best

My husband is out of town for a few weeks on business. So I have time to blog a little. He is gone a lot (a few weeks every month) but we are used to it and I don't really mind. One of the bad things about him being gone is I am left alone to sit and ponder our latest challenge. I have a two and a half year old son. There is a picture

I believe the quickest way to destroy a society is to destroy the family unit. Prostitution is def a way to break down the family unit. Not many women will tolerate their husbands frequenting a ho-bag. Not to mention the money it takes away from the family, as well as potential diseases when couples are trying to pro-create. In every aspect this "profession" breaks down the family unit. Without the family unit there is no familial

This really doesn't seem to be about a cake to me. You broke your word to them, they called you on it, and now they are self-righteous. You were wrong..sorry, I know it stinks to hear. I think you are the one throwing the friendship away. I'd be willing to bet that with a $14 check and an apology you could set things right.

It's the same way here. The league has nothing to do with the school, but the kids still wear jersey's and cheerleading uniforms. I don't know how your school will respond. This was an issue here a few years ago. Basically the concerned parent was told as long as the uniforms were within the schools dress code rules, the kids could wear them. We have a 3rd grade cheerleader next door. She seems to have matured overnight since

Back to topic. Why can't people who want to get out of the poverty situation not get out? In my experience it is because all they really want to do is talk about how bad it is while smoking 2-3 or even 4 packs of cigarettes a week....they want to get out as long as it doesn't require any work on their part. (Of course I am speaking about a few individuals in particular in my life.) My brother works, and works hard but is sti
