First one I bought was a second hand IBM PS/2 Model 30 with an 8MHz 8086 processor and a 20Mb hard disk. It had a full 1Mb of RAM though, not just 640Kb! Bought it in about 1991, I think. It was just about capable of running Windows 3.1, but I never bothered as it only had a mono screen, I ran MS-DOS 5 instead. Well, I re-read Brad's article on copyright, trademark and trade dress, and I can see how the examples I mentioned (the Matrix, Xbox, WinXP and OSX skins) actually do fit with the policy mentioned there. I can understand why the WC admins (particularly Jafo!) would be so annoyed by the whining complaints of 'Jafo2'. He is like so many people who think that an Internet connection gives him the right to take whatever he wants for free. I seem to have acquired the ability to rate, even though I have never uploaded anything and I have not (yet) subscribed to WinCust (although I am an OD subscriber). I will not be rating though, I don't see the point. If I like something, I will download it. But I would be interested to know how skinners currently feel. Would they rather have a high download count or a high peer rating?

I *always* prefer to receive email in plain text format, because I often pick up my email on my laptop or PDA via the modem in my mobile (cell) phone. So I don't want to be online for any longer than I have to! I appreciate that a lot of people like HTML format though, so it would be nice to have a choice.

Sometimes it is useful/interesting to have a look what's inside a .wba file (e.g. fonts, wallpaper, etc) before installing it. Try putting a shortcut to WinZip in your SendTo folder. Then you can right-click on a .wba file and select Send To > WinZip. The same trick will work for a lot of skin files which are really just renamed .zip files e.g. .obtheme, .ip, etc.

The old WinXP and GUI Olympics sections have still not disappeared completely. If you do a cross-library search, or click on an author''s name then click ''view authors skins'', you will still see the WinXP and GUI Olympics skins listed there. I assume these will disappear in time. Personally, I much prefer the single WB section. I would always download the XP version of a skin anyway, even though I don''t have Windows XP yet.
