I haven't used OD 1.x in a couple years after growing bored with all the faux - OSx themes that w ere so prevlant then, but got interested by rge OD2.0 beta. which runs amazingly well on Win7Pro x64! I have mixed feelins on thew settings UI as it feels very preliminary and underpowered. Hope that gets better. Am also hoping for some 64-bit optimized code for OD2 an the rest

Is there any way to define the desktop margins that IconX uses to position icons? I like to use a Sysmetrix bar across the top of the screen which, of course, covers the first row of desktop icons. Setting the Sysmetrix config to "reserve space when theme resembles a dock" fixes that problem, but does so by also limiting the desktop for apps when maximized. If this can't be done now, hopefully it wouldn't require too much coding to fix. (said with absolutely NO idea of what I'm talking about

I gotta give FX3Beta some serious lovin! My system is an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (actual speed: 2Ghz) overclocked to 2.2ghz (the same as a 3800+), on an Asus AV8Deluxe, 1GB DDR3200 Dual channel CAS2, all timings and voltages set to AUTO except for CPU. CPU OC'ed using 10% "adaptive overclocking" (which I've NEVER found an good online explanation of). ATI AllInWonder 3600XT (128MB, stock timings) feeding dual Dell 19" LCDs, 1280x1024 32bit 60hz.

Well, I feel like a pud. I clicked both thne treeview and refresh buttons yesterday, with no effect. I just did it again, and my skinz showed up. Never mind. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt="Posted v

Just installed my first build of WB5 (4.90b[b].003]. On restart all looks good and promising, but only the first 30 of my approximately 400 (yes, I'm a long time font whore! LOL) show in the skins list via wbconfig OR the syatem Display Properties window. Not a big problem, as I was using 5imple before upgrading, amd switched to 5imple Alpha with WB5 beta, but it IS annoying. As far as I can tell, the skins are all there and untouched. Below

I certainly did not mean to denigrate skinners, especially the creator of the Spider-Man desktop, which I agree does look great...at least what there IS of it! That's my problem with this desktop: I just think that a "Premium" (aka "not-free") desktop should, at the very least, take full advantage of WindowBlinds (toolbars, progress anims, fer instance). It's also a shame that more of ODN isn't skinned by this, when you consider what the licensing must have cost. The Spi

I *was* looking forward to this, but just can't justify the expense (even just $8.95) for what seems to be an incomplete package: no toolbar icons, OD/DX bitmaps or zooomers, etc. Are there any plans to update/complete this package? If not, it seems like an awful tease of what could have been.

WOW!!! I just started playing with OD+, and love it! It's gonna take me a while to really examine this baby. I wasn't gonna get it, at first, since I never really was all that enamored of Tab LaunchPad, and thought OD+ was basically just a steroid-mutated version of TLP+OD. I bought it, anyway, as I have never been burned by Stardock. Welp, just being able to add the "Programs" folder

Hey, Stardock!! Let's get that OD+ "Buy" link working! My credit card is sitting on my desk, vibrating with excitement, ready to give you MY $15. Seriously, I've been an ODN subscriber for ~6 years now, and have no problem with having paid extra for CursorXP and, now, OD+. Just the fact that we don't have to pay extra for version upgrades (unlike most other apps we buy) is enough reason to support

Actually, as a ODN subscriber for a few years, I respectfully disagree E-man. There is NO way Stardock can insure its components will work with all apps, there are just too many. Another part of the problem is programs who don't stick 100% to the Windows APIs. Many authors will use "unofficial/undocumented" calls to make their app run faster/better, or simply to take a shortcut in the coding. I think allowing us to exclude such apps in the setup of Stardock components works very well. I

Thunderpaw: I don't use OD to launch games, but I have no problem with other apps that want a working directory. Instead of referencing the EXE in the dock item properties, I use the Start menu shortcut to the app. If the LNK doesn't list a working directory, putting in the LNK fixes it. I know it seems obvious and overly simple, but did you try that?

Agreed, Jark. If I could use it to the fullest, I just may reconsider spending the $ on the suite. BTW, I hope I didn't sound overly pissed with Stardock/Wincustomize before. I've happily been a subscriber since WB 1.x, and plan on staying with it. I truly think the subscription/unlimited updates model is the way to go! Stardock's stuff is one of the few product lines I happily spend my money on. Otherwise I generally use freeware or registered shareware, finding that the

I gotta agree with Speedy! One of the big reasons I subscribed to WInCustomize was the promise of "premium" suites just for subscribers. It look as if that is all we'll get as far as suites go: promises. I'll still renew my sub because of the quality of goods here, but subscribers having to pay $8.95 for this suite, just like everyone else, kinda blows! >

Nope.... I always have smartmenus disabled, also, cuz I hate them, too. GRRRRR...I wish I could figger out the OB code, but I'm an olde farte, and it makes my head hurt! I've tried comparing the configs with a skin that DOES have the up and down scroll arrows on the programs popup, but I needed a BIG drink after that! *sigh* No biggie. Ubtil I do get it, I'll make do. <b

Nope, the Program folder shows in the Popup just FINE. What the popup doesn't have are scroll arrows that I can click on. Instead, I can only scroll through the list with the keyboard arrows. I want to copy the arrow BMPs from another OB skin that has them and make them work in THIS skin, but I can't make heads or tails of the various config files to find the code. What I need if sor someone to tell me what file to edit and the code to insert to make it happen. Thanx!

I really, really like this skin, but have a problem. I have no idea of how to add up and down arrows to the progam folders listing under the Apple Menu [I forget what that menu item was originally called, as I renamed it already ]. I have the bmps to copy from another OB skin, but no idea how to reference them and make the Programs listing scroll. Without them, my apps list stops in the "F's" <img sr

Azlon: It surely sounds like something is amiss with your system! The only app that consistently crashes for ME when skinned with WB is WordPerfect 2002 (which I loathe. but my girlfriend insists on using). I also find THAT depends on the skin It's one of very few apps I've had to add to the WB exclusions. I'm running XP pro, also, Athlon XP 1.47 GHz (aka 1700+) GeForce3 Ti300...hardly a powerhouse today. I have WindowBlinds, ObjectDock, DesktopX, WindowsFX (in maximum eye cand

Jafo: I hear ya re: XP stability, but I just want a shell that gives me just what I need, no more. I like squeezing all I can from my memory/cpu and, to me, 37MB being taken by Explorer is way too much for me. Anyway, if I understand you right, I could just install LS with whatever the distro's "basic" theme is, and edit theme.rc, deleing everying except the lines loading dektop.dll and po
