If you beg and/or bribe the right admin, they can probably accommodate your wishes. (I've been down that road, but decided to just stick with what I'd accidentally signed up with!)

which means we're on Eastern Daylight Time There's actually a great moon-phase site out there, but I'll be damned I can remember where it is. I used it doing writing research like 5 years ago. It's probably gone by now!

3dEye ... Actually, I used to have the O2E installed for nostalgia's sake, but I just got too bored of it to keep it around. Though I do still go back to the Apple II emu now and again. Frogboy ... an Apple II in 1980? Hell, it was already out of date by then! There's a great outline of the history of the stuff on http://apple2history.org if you're interested....

Apple //e, with the fancy Apple III green-screen monitor (with built-in glare filter), two 5 1/4 floppy drives, joystick, and dot-matrix printer. Damn, I wasted a lot of time hacking away at that thing. What ever happened to Beagle Bros. software, anyway? Of course, if it counts, my Odyssey2 game machine with the soft-touch keyboard and the "Computer Intro" cartridge predates the //e...

Oh, this thread's gone idle longer than two days before. It tends to lie low on the weekends, but I can't imagine it'll ever completely die! Let's see, weekend ... I was on stage Friday night, drove 300 miles and rented a tux on Saturday morning, was back on stage Saturday night, then out drinking, then back on stage yet again on Sunday afternoon, went home, cleaned the apartment, and collapsed. No time to stop and smell the roses <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/sm

I'm always amazed at how pleasant the Disney folks are, too, especially given the working conditions. (Disney's not exactly known for being generous with its wallet.) And as for the Magic Kingdom getting run down, you're right, but they're working on it. Ironic that you mentioned Pirates of the Caribbean, since that's newly renovated! (My cousin does animation on those animatronic figures.) Glad you had a good time, and welcome back!

I guess my desire to have this removed may have more to do with the way I'm coming across than the usefulness of the thread. I consider myself a reasonable person, above all. And I reasonably believe there's a difference between, say, a WB skin that emulates WinXP and a Dashboard skin that uses XP elements. But I also must admit, there are only so many ways to make an XP-styled skin for Dashboa

I guess I've just been on a single IRC channel long enough that everyone gets along and there's rarely a problem. Helps that pretty much everyone there is an op at this point. And usually -- particularly during the day -- the female population outnumbers the male. It's just a matter of finding a channel that fits, then praying it doesn't change for the worse, I suppose.

Okay, once again: I've made my opinions clear. If anyone really wants further clarification, feel free to e-mail me, and I'll be happy to discuss it off the boards. Grayhaze, I disagree with much of what you said. There is no concrete definition of a "rip." And I'm truly bothered that you have the audacity to call my XP skin a rip. Again, I never claim the graphics are my own design, but take a screenshot of anything in XP, without altering it, and show me how my skin is a rip.

If you stay off the IRC channels that discuss porn, drugs, and alcohol, then you're fine. The trick is not going on channels with people you don't want to talk to! And look at it this way -- if someone came into this thread and started mouthing off about something that no one wanted to hear, it'd take a while for an admin to see it and take whatever necessary action (removing the posts, banning the user, etc.) On IRC, it'd be nearly instantaneous. Don't get me wrong, I love thi

They must all be for PPC2002. That, or I just haven't noticed them. I've seen the animated plug-ins, and they seem cute but useless to me. And streaming live content doesn't do any good unless you have an always-on Internet connection (unless that's not what you mean by "live content"). I have yet to see anything that could replace the functionality of Dashboard on my sytem.

Who needs IRC? Anyone who doesn't like restricting random chatting and babbling to particular threads. Anyone who doesn't want to feel guilty about going "off-topic." Though Doreen and I seem to manage pulling many threads out of their topics anyway.... What can I say? I've been IRCing for ... oh, lord, about 11 or 12 years now ... and ... umm, I've lost my train of thought. I'm feeling old now.
