Hey I'm glad you got a good result! I tried the same thing but unfortunately it made no difference. The best solution I've tested so far is to set the Drengin/Yor/Korath to Torian personality type. They make a real effort to expand then and do reasonably well but still end up being a bit of a push over. [email protected] have said they'll pass on the issue to the developers so nothing firm there. I've also noticed another is

Yeah what you've described is a classic example of an evil race's behaviour! I've tried the max CPU settings for evil races however this dosen't seem to solve the problem. One solution I've been tinkering with is setting the personality of the evil races to something like Krynn or Torian. This appears to largely solve the slow/non-existant expansion problem but I'm still experimenting. I don't believe this will give a true Drengin/Korath/Yor ai experience though.
Yes admittedly I have noticed this with other races from time to time too! It varies in severity but often they will only colonise habitable planets near their starting systems and not venture any further out (even though high quality planets may be very close by). They eventually get completely surrounded by good and neutral races (often the Torians) and fall way behind in research and military. This appears to happen in pretty much every game I have been playing since updating to 2.
I'd like to raise the issue of evil AI races still not expanding/colonising properly in twilight of the arnor v2.02. This has been posted about at length before but has any solution ever been provided? This is a crippling game bug that ruins the enjoyment of large maps and high difficulty levels.
I've just recently purchased the Gold Edition of Galactic Civilizations 2. I am playing on a pc that is not connected to the internet and I will not be able to download Stardock Central for updates etc. My question is whether or not there is some other way to download the most recent 1.6 patch direct from the website (www.galciv2.com) given that I have no access to Stardock Central? For this I can use another pc with internet access but not to play the game on. Previou
Well I've sent the activation e-mail off. I'll post back when I get a reply and if it works. The whole thing is a bit of a shambles even though I'm sure the intention was decent
I've downloaded the patch but it requires product activation after install. I've followed the steps and attempted to send the activation e-mail in several times but it keeps getting returned to me!
Thanks for the advice! I have tried what you suggested however the e-mails keep being returned to me. I will try to send it again to [email protected].
I have e-mailed in the activation e-mail for patch 1.0x but it has been returned multiple times. Is the address definitely [email protected]?
I am having a similar problem! I have e-mailed in the product activation e-mail but it dosen't seem to be getting through. I am doing this on a different pc as the one with GalCiv 2 installed isn't connected to the Net. Any ideas?
I have a query that will probably sound dumb but here goes! I have downloaded the most recent 1.0x patch on an internet connected pc and applied it to my GalCiv 2 install which is on a non-internet connected pc. Whenever I am asked to submit my serial number for product activation I cannot connect to the net to do so!! Is there anyway around this or any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Splink
Massive 4x fan here. Love Galciv and can't wait for the sequel!
