Could you imagine a diplomatic attack on one of these sub capitals, could lead to a un wanted Civil War, and a region in civil war should become easy pickings for some espinoage, funding the civil war for example. Break up a large empire through diplomatic means. Well maybe to much.

If your a Babylon 5 Fan http://ifh.babylonfive.ru/ I remember the first time I played, I was in a Earth Force Fighter and was tasked to escort a convoy from raiders. The Raiders came, I hit full thrust and that was it, the game uses real physics in it's flight model, I soared off into space, quite funny actually but very frustrating at the time. Not trying to get to off topic, just a coment on the easy of by passing a star base. How about some tech that creates, say, a false gravity well around the star base, so all inbound ships, enemy/friendly, jump virtually ontop of the star base, in range of all it's weapons. I could see only an aggressive move, on a choke point occupied by a star base. And maybe an ECM tech that would inhibit these effects, (there always has to be some kind of counter).<

Well this RTS is WAY OUT there, actually if you search you can download it legally, as EDIOS has released the code to the GP, and the game is being actively modded, to improve the graphics and AI. Warzone 2100 I have it, and still play it.
Okay, first off here are the differences. Impulse is ONLY required to PATCH sins. NOTHING ELSE. Steam requires you to have it running CONSTANTLY so you can even PLAY your games. Your arguement is therefore null and void.
I agree completely.

Ahh there was a game, a very old game called Rules of Engagement 2, and it could be linked with another game called Breach 3. You commanded a ship, and at times commaned a small fleet from your command ship, and you could board other ships and starbases and every now and then, Breach 3 would open up and you commanded the boarding party, setting their weapon loads etc. I enjoyed it alot on the old Amiga 2500, could never quite get the PC version to work. You could

I've mentioned this in another thread, can't remember right now, but I had this exact problem. Mini Dump when starting the game. I uninstalled the game reinstalled applied the 1.12 patch downloaded Entrenchment and patched that and I got the same minidump error. So I turned off my firewall software (thats all I did). And presto game runs fine no issues no crashes. If you have a firewall (zone alarm, Comodo, etc) try turning it off and try the game, now I maybe ju

Not to add to any confusion but.... I had this problem as well, but I have never had anymods installed, I can't verify if my original 1.12 Sins had load mods on startup selected for as I've said I have never used mods, but when I shut down my COMODO firewall the game booted up fine, and I was able to complete a 2 hour single match. Try and disable any firewalls and see if that resolves your issue.

I had (or maybe still have) this problem, I just played two short single player games and no crashes. This is what I did (seems to be working). I have COMODO firewall software running. When I turned it off, the game did not crash, I just finished a game with COMODO in training mode and the game did not crash. I fired up another game with the firewall on and played for 45 minutes and no crashes. I guess what I'm saying is check out your
