Ooops, sorry, meant 1.5, head in a shed as they say ...

Hi. I am running a systray dock in ObjectDock 2.0 and have downloaded all the nice crisp .pngs from Wincustomize to replace the fuzzy icons generated from the .exes. They all work perfectly - except ICQ! Everytime I start the program I have to go to the systray and manually replace the icon. This doesn't happen with any other icons in systray, they all keep using the icons I have assigned to them. Anyone know why this should be and what I can do to fix it?
If you have to replace a defective motherboard you will in theory be replacing it with the same motherboard that was in your system previously and you won't need to re-activate at that point. Sorry, you are plain wrong. The computer will pick up the serial number of the board electronically and it wil
They are, however, not allowing any transfers at all to people with OEM versions. This can have big consequences if you are not someone who likes to build their own computer. If you buy a machine with the OEM version pre-loaded (as I imagine the vast majority of domestic consumers will) and the motherboard, say, develops a fault which requires its replacement, then Vista won't be transferable back onto the repaired machine. It will recognise the change
I assume the standard word document icon is somewhere in the Office folder in C:\program files, probably in a .dll file. Hadn't been able to find it so followed advice above and there it was.
Well, have just applied the PixOffice set that comes with icon packager and no Word icon, which is bizarre for a pack with "Office" in its name. On a related issue, anyone know where the default windows Word icon lives so that I can browse to it to replace the ugly wordpad one?
There are some fab icon sets on this site but I was wondering why so few of them seem to include an icon for a word document, which surely most of us have on our computers. Is so disappointing to apply a fab set of icons only to find that for some reason there isn't one for a .doc file. Even worse, for a reason I can't fathom, applying an icon set makes my word docs lose their standard icon and it is replaced with an ugly wordpad one.
yep, windowblinds running perfectly, have not dared to load Icon Packager.
Ah, reading other forums here I think it may be an icon packager problem not windowblinds. I had installed windowblinds, said no to running the program immediately and then installed icon packager "while I was there" before restarting. Other people have reported problems the same as mine following the latest IP being installed
Thanks, but have learned to set a restore point immediately before loading anything so isn't too much hassle.
sorry, got taken to an error page after posting the first time and I didn't know it had gone on first time. Oops.
Aaaarggh! Tried reinstalling from SDC and almost exactly the same symptoms straight from the restart after installation. The desktop looks to be there but it is almost as though it is a "picture" of the desktop with no interoperability with the mouse - nothing happens when I click on start button, shortcuts or even right clicking on desktop. All I am able to do is to press control+alt+delete to bring up task manager so that I can restart from its shutd

Yeah, I booted into safe mode in order to run system restore.
I too have had problems after loading windowblinds 5. It seemed ok on the first restart after loading and I applied the Vista XP skin. At the end of the session the computer shut down normally. Next time I went to start the computer it got so far with the wallpaper and taskbar showing on screen but explorer.exe never seemed to finish loading. If I put my mouse pointer over the taskbar it showed the "egg timer" constantly but nothing ever happened - I w
Is WB5 that much more of a system hog than 4.6 then? As I say, never had a problem with 4.6. WB5 runs fine on one of my laptops which only has a PIII 700Mhz processor and an 8Mb on-board graphics chip, but admittedly does have 312 Mb RAM, also running XP Pro.
Weird. Computer runs WB4.6 perfectly but I can't update to WB5. Everyrtime I try, on doing the recommended restart the computer won't start properly. I get as far as the wallpaper being up but explorer refuses to start, I just have the "hourglass" and mouse pointer sat alternating every so often in the middle of the screen. Even Ctrl Alt Del doesn't work and the taskmanager won't come up. I need to reboot into safe mode and run a system restore from th
Aha! Thanks, just KNEW there had to be an easy way of doing it!
Hi everyone. I love the appearance of dark/black skins, but keep on coming across the same problem. When I open Word, the "paper" is invariably a dark colour - normally grey - and it makes it hard to use the program. I have fiddled around with the "per application" settings and the "user override" in windowblinds but don't seem to be able to sort it out. Is there anywhere in skin studio to fix it? Or am I stuck with a nice looking but not very usable s
Which browser? I use firefox 1.0 with no problems. Incidently, if you use the default skin in firefox, the app gets skinned quite nicely by WindowBlinds.
Will try the Skin Studio thing, this should be interesting!
Hi everyone. Am having an odd problem. I love dark skins but they make Word a bit hard to use with making the "paper" dark, a very dark grey in the case of the wonderful "G3" skin. Even though the text becomes white it is most unsettling - especially when formatting the Guardian Crossword for printing! (I am signed up to get it off the net instead of buying the paper every day). Trying to get my head around the fact that the white squares on t
Developer yrag , You are a prince among men, cheers mate.
I notice that while some blinds bay be right clicked and "rolled up", some can't. Now, I am a real fan of this feature and am disappointed when the blind I use because of it's appearance doesn't have this facility. Is this a relatively simple option to apply in Skin Studio or are we talking a huge kerfuffle needing to know about (gulp!) scripts and stuff? Or perhaps there is a DLL that has to be dropped into the visual style file? Ca
on my 2.4 Gz Athlon powered laptop I have 12% CPU usage with DesktopX, Windowblinds, ICQ and 2 windows of Firefox open so something definitely ain't right with your machine! I see above that your PC is running XP service pack 1, have you thought of doing the upgrade to service pack 2? I don't know if that will solve it but it is worth a try, you should do it for the security updates in any case.
