I was reading an article in the paper on our state senator's proposals for Texas' educational system. EVERY ONE of his proposals revolved around a tax increase. Sadly, this senator was allegedly a Republican. he just smartened up; a little too late now; which is why the backlash against him taxing; should tax when things are good and not tax as much w

Privatization? Wow, government run is ineffecient at times. But that's because of regulation; oversight. Privately run; gross mismanagment and way too many 'private' examples of fraud; too damn and too weakened oversight; have yet to see a company that really ties to help people; we then become consumers instead of citizens, and tax payers. . Some middle road is necessary; government deregulation since the 1980s is starting to be felt now. Sort of like mad credit card spending i

Tax increases are necessary; hell, not taxing when you have bills to pay just makes you lose more money. They've been cutting taxes way too long when all of a sudden they realized they don't have the funds to satisfy the increased demans for services, they end up having no choice but to tax. Of course, no one wants to pay taxes especially if you see that you are getting broker; which I can see, since I now have to find a new job. Sadly, people expect the government to provide stuff and

Actually; I've always thought that we didn't lose that "military action" we sort of just got fed up and left. Lots of nice comments but you can't take them for a grain of truth unless you verify them. What are his sources, other than that they seem accurate from what I recall in reading some other facts about the war especially on tet (read a book on that which verified to a degree that afterward they had hurt themselves; yet, it was a deep message nonetheless) I'm thinking that maybe h

this is why nietsche was so perceptive, he saw that people were not really living as jesus wanted; plus God/Jesus never did write those books, other men did, thinking the best writers were in the book of wisdom and book of job which I was first to look at in a class. Very inciteful. Other good writings come from prophets who saw that the poor and other downtroden were getting the shaft; God to them was a liberator. (Nice james cone book, "The spirtituals and the Blues." I can't really b

Ahhh... good old Nietsche quote: "There was only one true christian and he died on the cross" Believe that was it word for word; some common misconceptions was that Nietsche was an atheist but really he was agnostic; sort of Dyonesian in philosophy (although I guess he was anti-drinking) which sort of falls out since the god dyonisus was the god of wine or some such; mostly, I think religion was supposed to be a celebration of life; actions in orthopraxy not what it has been turned

Damn, I think christmas in today's age and time is nothing more than a commercial holiday and to check out how much 'others' love me or not; cynical damn straight, never here about Christ during the holiday at anytime even when I was at gatherings from friends who were a little bit more 'christian." Although, last year during a toy drive someone 'forced' me to look into giving (damn, looked at a christmas tree with all those little hands); so that felt good but you don't really hear about that o

Some people are jumping on the secularist but it seems funny in that the constitution and other documents were attempts to keep this so (by our 'framers,' forefathers, etc.). One can be devout in their faith and at the same time realize that they have to be open to others rights to practice religion. ============== Not sure about the guy cited; he 'seems' to be pushing his beliefs (and should be fired; you do not push your beliefs on me and I won't push mine on you is pretty simple i

Banning a historical document? That's a laugh if that is what is happening. Frankly, when I believe in separation of church and state that signifies that federal officials/teachers and anyone in some type of public service cannot promote a specific religious agenda on us. That's what our founders were trying to do: they wanted to be able to practice as they wished and not be persecuted as they were in England. Banning the declaration of independence is quite

Sometimes, we just have to laugh at the carictures of ourselves. Guess that's our due now; we sure as hell did it to you conservatives for quite some time. But hey, that's politics; there's always something to laugh at.

Ok, setting partisanship aside does anyone disagree that the level of spoiled ballots usually on the negative for older people and minorities is a bad thing? These are people who are being disenfranshized. Voting machines that leave no evidence of use; frankly, I'ld like to receive a receipt since voting is in my opinion as important as getting cash

don't both shooting the gunship on the left, hid behind the column at the right; kill the right gunship since he has access to you. Then look at the 'bubble' doctor breen is in. As it nears the top; there's a pop and some black door like things pop up that swirl around; quickly grab those plasma balls and shoots those door thingees when they all fall off or are destroyed you win; if not try to do it a little faster; time limit. took me a day t

Hehehehehehehehehehehehehe... Damn first thing I thought as I saw this tilte. That hour glass figure you like so much is a recent invention what was the prior term; rebenesque (check out those chicks... big wastes, chestes and hips (better for the kid to slide through) that was the preference back in the day. I'm a guy; but a point on being too skinny does exist way to big a turn off as well as being way too big. I'm thinking that goes for

I found this link; its a shockwave flash file and really interesting: http://www.lba.hu/video/kozlekedes/00006nk.swf Ok, when looking at it the pilot is either the best pilot I've ever seen bring such a tough landing off or else the saddest pilot in the world. From the look of things and sound it looked like the weather was bad and he still managed to stick th

I bought half life 2 back on the 19th or Friday I believe; began installing it which took a very long time and then creating a steam account after steam took about a year on my 56k connection to update and then it also had to decrypt itself in order for me to play. So during the installation of the game I really started thinking; I won and liked half life a lot
