Sites I have acquired, am new to LiteStep, and have went the OTS route, and have installed the lsd patch that reportedly allows the install of both distro and OTS themes. Jafo and a man named Pharoe are this community's "people-to-know." Let it be said, I am reading the manual!!!! 1. www.shellfront.org 2. www.litestep.com 3. http://builds.lsdev.org Have tried to access

Jafo, After OTS was released , Schmots created a patch that enables OTS adherants to use LSDistro themes, and have the capability of switching between OTS an LSDiarto themes. This patch enables those who follow OTS to to use all themes: OTS compliant themes, regular LiteStep themes, as well as LSDistro themes. Thought I might impress you a bit, no?

Newly downloaded Litestep via OTS installer. Any significantly informative sites besides litestep.net that you 'steppers can clue me in on? Am aware of LS FAQ, am really interested in being able to install new desktops, know it is all about the READING requirement with LS, but just looking for some wisdom and "shortcuts." Thanx in Advance!

Just downloaded OTS, Damn, what a difference. I see that applying themes is a bit more difficult, know that I also downloaded the patch to allow the application od distro themes also. Litestep build with this OTS is 0.24.6, and is running LiteGnome by Laurant.

Why discriminate between those who skin and those who buy? Boils down to "us vs them", in my opinion. I understand the need for reimbursment, but the banner contiues for me, guess I didn't spend enough.................? Capitalism at it's best!!

I use the vertical taskbar, 'cause I don't like my taskbar "crowded", and it is always set to autohide. Smart button used is for roll up. I don't use plug-in skins other than those found at the respective plug-in sites.

I spend 3-4 hours, and I am not even a skinner. As a novice, with XP pro, and thinking about going with something like Litestep, for the "effect" of it all. Am I understanding that Litestep can just be used for application of existing themes, or do I have to be a "skinner" first. Honest answer to this one guys (and gals), for someone that very little about skinning, or using Litestep as a creative outlet, how difficult is it to LEARN? I know I will always have this community for assistance, b

As much as I would like to "order" what I would like to see in artist's skins, outside maybe a request for a different color, the thrill of reviewing new skins is you never know what it is going to look like. I have found that for as much as I thought I had a specific "taste", the variety I see in skins is great! I find myself checking this site numerous times a day........and always look forward to that new "submission"! Terrific site, interesting skins and creative skinners keeps me

In my opinion, for what that is worth, it is sad to think that one has to register to the site prior to having the ability to generate a comment. I had read time and time again about the author's concerns about feedback, why would one have to register at the GUI Olympic site, to whose benefit does that serve? Having to register is keeping some UNIQUE visitors from commenting, ultimately who suffers...............the author, not the entity counting the hits at the website.

Thanks Tast.....figured it out, after awhile. In thinking it is a "Windows"-type program, naturally went to display appearance under control panel. Thanks for your response..............wasn't in the buying software frame of mind, know what I mean? Always enjoy the benefits of a "freebie" when possible. Appreciate the effort on your part Jafo!

Have recently downloaded XP Power Toys, ONLY the program for multiple desktops, "Virtual Desktop Manager." Am having problems getting the wallpapers for the various desktops to "stick." When I bring a desktop out of "preview" the wallpaper disappears. Does anyone having this program have some words of wisdom, would really appreciate some help! In advance..........Thanks! :l
