Keep Wallpapers highlighted - I sometimes just want a wallpaper and will add my own DX and OD+ items to my desktop add Mozilla agree on splitting ObjectDock into different categories tutorial section would indeed be nice to have handy for us newbies.

it won't let me install the Cursor XP folder in my Stardock folder Hi Psitotik. CursorXP installs in Program Files - not Stardock, if you want it to show up as installed in Stardock Central (therefore in the Stardock directory) see my answer to figureouter in #10 above - just substitute what I said about OD+ with CursorXP in each instanc
Thanks to both of you. The photos are my own and I already knew about getting written permission about using someone else's work. Which is what I will have to do if I use any graphics because I'm not much of an artist.
Hi figureouter. I'm sorry I misunderstood your question. TM doesn't see my OD+ either. I don't know what to tell you. However, my TM doesn't look like the one in the tutorial. I have the latest update as of yesterday (2.11.027) but my TM doesn't have the same left-side pane showing the "Available Suites", "Create Suite", and "Settings" options. It just lists the available programs in the left pane - but not OD+. I saw somewhere in another thread that someone else's TM didn't l
Thanks Koasati. I have an old trial version of PSP7 which I have never installed. I have the PSP9 beta that I didn't get around to installing. I have Photoshop 6 (not installed), and I have CorelDraw 8 (not installed). None of these are installed because I'm cleaning up my computer to create a compressed backup image that won't be 3GB or more in size. Which of these would be the best to use? <img src=
How do I resize without losing picture quality? How do I zip the multiple files? (I've only unzipped, not zipped.) I have winzip as well as the zip that comes with OD.
We are going back and forth in several discussions in the last few minutes. I've got to get out of the discussion area. It's CONSUMING MY LIFE!!!!!
I'm one of those newbies your helping, thank you very much! I use the browser for the discussions and downloads, and SDC for updating. I still use Mozilla for all other web stuff.
So, if I want to use them as part of WB I need to convert them to bmp? They load just fine as jpg with DX. Also, if I wanted to upload them for consideration as wallpapers for others to use, what would I need to do about their format, size, etc?
Eating? Sleeping? Well, I have to admit I haven't been doing much of either since finding this place. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gi
Now I'm confused. Does DX use jpg and WB use bmp? Also, I have some photos I took that I think might make some nice wallpapers (they are jpg). Do they need to be jpg or bmp?
Thanks ChasUGC. I was just reading about that in the tutorial. I have several jpg wallpapers from the old Desktop Architect themes that I want to use on my computer - especially my Lord of the Rings stuff. (I was still using DA until I discovered this whole addictive WC universe). I'm still reading about how to do things with the different components. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smile
Thanks Koasati. I don't use My Documents or any of its sub-folders. I prefer to make my own default folders for the usual Office docs, downloads, etc. However, I do let programs create their folders in their default locations (it avoids a lot of headaches later).
I do my best. I'm a technical writer so I tend to be very specific (and wordy). I've noticed sometimes, on the responses to people requesting help, that the "veterans" are so used to how to do things that they give very short criptic answers and forget that us newbies don't know how to drill down to do things. (That wasn't a very well worded sentence was it?) <img src="http:/
Thanks Essencay, that's what I've been doing. I was just having problems with where to put the wallpapers. I save all of my downloads as zip files to copy over to my other harddrive as a backup rather than letting them install themselves. I do let SDC upate the programs though.
It is definitely worth getting Object Desktop. I'm new to OD and WC and all and I've been spending my time looking at and downloading themes, suites, skins, objects, widgets, etc., etc., etc. instead of looking for a J.O.B. I'm most certainly addicted now. And I love the WC community. You are all so helpful. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full&New
My brother thinks I'm crazy for wanting to skin my computer. He's one of those that wants a lean, mean, clean machine. My husband is having to put up with me running into the room telling him about this really cool theme, suite, skin, or whatever that I've just seen. I'm not even going to try to talk to my sister or her husband about skinning a computer. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/i
When I found out about Stardock and ObjectDesktop and all the rest (about one month ago) it only took about 2 minutes on the WC message boards to be hooked. I'm supposed to be looking for a J.O.B. and instead I'm spending all my time here on the message boards and looking at all of the great skins that are available. This week I was finally able to buy the four items that Essencay listed above (had to come up with the money). My computer and I are never going to be the same again!!! <
I've noticed quite a few message threads asking where to unzip the various programs' downloads. Maybe one of the admins could make a list of the locations where they would normally go. I'm a newbie myself and I'm not always sure that the location I'm extracting the files to is the correct place for them to work. I've been having problems with the wallpapers showing up until I saw one of the responses to one of the message threads I referred to above. Oh, and how about making th
i installed OD+ through SDC. i see it in SDC, but not in theme manager. everything else i downloaded and installed i see in theme manager (sysmetrix, bootskin, logon studio) Hi figureouter, Please see my response to your question regarding this issue in the "Cursor XP not showing up as loaded in Stardock Central" thread. If you
Hi Essencay, I found the place to enter the SN for my Cursor XP. Thanks. do you see Objectdock plus ion the theme manager list of programs? Hi Figureouter. When you are in Stardock Central: 1. Click on Tools up at the top left 2. Select Register Products 3. Select Miscellaneous in the left window of the Registration page
On my computer some of the site links come up in the WC Browser but the majority come up in IE. What's the difference?
How do you install CursorXP Plus through SDC? SDC only gives me the option of "Downloading" the free version - not "Installing" the Plus version. I had already downloaded the Plus version right after I paid for it. ObjectDock Plus which I had also paid for and already installed independently had the choice of "Installing" in Stardock Central.
I've added my site even though I'm brand new to this and haven't done anything yet. I hope to soon. BTW everyone's site is fun to see. http://AmberEyes.wincustomize.com
Thanks kona0197 for the info. I think the Q button doesn't work for me because I'm still using an old Mozilla build.
