True, atleast if you ask GameReplays. The classic C&C mechanics are old and outdated and nothing people want back (except the "TRUE C&C!!! people"....) Myself I hope for the best for this one as C&C Generals was the best C&C for me atleast.
Heh. I was actually thinking about a post on that site complaining about fans complaining about the lack of paygo.
Come on zigzag Calling "you can put lipstick on a pig" to DW expansions is really not fair. Try Legends and we'll talk.
How about "you can add additional gameplay mechanics and make additional improvements to the user interface; but it still will not be entertaining to someone who doesn't like the game's scale, its implementation of the civilian economy, or its combat model." Is that more fair? I'll probably end up buying it after the price drops
I think people don't want a Starcraft copy nor do they want to screw up like they did the C&C Tiberium 4.
For sure, not an exact copy of Starcraft, but I thought it was the abandonment of traditional C&C elements that made Generals the game that it was.
You're not trying as much as you should to like Distant Worlds zigzag Yes, I know where you stand (we've discussed this before), and surely you'll have your reasons. But believe me, I hated the experience when playing Distant Worlds vanilla. Now with Legends I'm just sad not to have enough time in my hands to play it through the night as in the good old MoO2 days.
I've tried. But to quote an election-winning one-liner "you can put lipstick on
There is no proof that "free will" exists. There is nothing rational about the concept of free will. The idea of free will presumes that beings are capable of making decisions that are contra-causal. We aren't supernatural--we are natural, part of nature and that means that we can only make choices and decisions based on our chemistry, our history, and our environment.
Hey now, that's a very broad claim. Not everyone thinks like a Catholic (or, more broad
You know my thoughts about Distant Worlds. :-p If this is true...
I finish with this. If Master of Orion 2 was the 4X space strategy gaming reference of the nineties, then Distant Worlds Legends is the 4X space strategy gaming reference of the early XXI century. What are you waiting for? Buy it now!
... then I fear for the century.
It'll be interesting to see whether the game stays close to the original's formula (C&C does StarCraft), if it moves closer to some of the other games in the series, or if it's something else entirely.
What if you would rather starve the city than spend the gold?
Companies should not work on any downloadable/expansion material until after the game is published.
My guess: it costs money. Why would Steam let you use their services without getting a cut of the money?
This is a very good reason for Steam to let them use their services for "free". If I could re-register on Steam or GamersGate, I'd do so immediately.
Excellent. I can re-buy Sins on Steam and get rid of Gamestop completely. Then again if Stardock Cen
I'll offer a minority opinion. Neither. Distant Worlds is a real-time, macromanagement game. (Full disclosure: I love micromanaging and hate macromanagement games.) It's a game that aims at achieving the strategic depth of a traditional game and the tactical depth of a real-time game, but succeeds at neither. The game has too many mechanics at the strategic level for its pace. The upcoming expansion will only add to this. Sins navigates this tension by jet
One of the things that is giving me fits in Fallen Enchantress is getting delicate units to a dangerous place safely. The classic case, sending a pioneer to claim a new area – but without getting killed on the way. The hardest part of writing AI isn’t coming up with *A* away to solve a problem. It is solving the problem that doesn’t require a lot of coding time AND doesn’t doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU. So, for instance, I

We don't want to drop a bunch of details right now when there's lots of new games coming out and the holidays approaching, cause only real fans like you guys are paying attention. The crucial design difference between SOASE and SOTS is that SOASE players handle combat simultaneously with other elements of empire manage
Its more than SoTS with bloom. Its SoTS, taken to a new level. Its more complex than the original. Looks to have alot more depth also. SoTS vets, will have to relearn alot of the game just like a brand new player to the universe would.
<span class="Apple-style-span"
If you guys can describe the game beyond what the sales pitch is I'd appreciate it. I'm curious, but not enough to buy it without some more info.
In a sentence: it's SOTS with bloom. Despite the changes, it's still the same macro-management-oriented space strategy

Does this game have a permanent third-person mode? First-person perspectives usually make me sick to my stomach after thirty minutes or so.
