My faith in the system has been restored.
We now get to have our little girl with us for 4 nights a week, to be reviewed in 3 month time

This happened because the social worker's report was so damaging towards the mother that council for the child together with our own lawyer realised that it would be in my daughter's best interest to spend more time with myself and my wife.

In the meantime, her mother has to go on a parenting course, and have a psych evaluation.
The social worker will be keeping regular tabs on her to make sure that she complies with everything.

We never in our wildest dreams expected this result so quickly,

Although I suspect that while it was ultimately the mothers choice to agree to this, her lawyer would've strongly advised her to agree to this, she would've been screwed otherwise.

I'm fully expecting the mother to screw up however, as she's had to do parenting courses in the past and they've done no good at all.
And given that her mental health is pretty unstable to say the least, I give her 6 - 8 weeks before she cracks under the pressure.

Nonetheless, now we don't have to worry so much anymore about our daughter, and get to play a far more active role in her upbringing

I'm so pleased for you, MM...things are looking up for you at long last. Hopefully The final outcome will be that you and your daughter are reunited permanently.

No such luck here, though...have had to institute legal proceedings to force the bureaucratic idiots here to get off their butts.....zero response from the Minister's office or the dept regarding our application to have Tanka made Ward of State for her own protection, given that 'so-say', then they have the power and authority to do all we've been asking for the last 3 months, to no avail. As the lawyer put it: "If they won't allow you to act in her better interests, then we sure as hell will force them to assume the responsibilities they've denied you."

Absolutely no action whatsoever for several weeks.....no contact, correspondence, nothing....then out of the blue a call from the case worker to inform us that Tanka is missing yet again and may be pregnant. Needless to say my/our blood boiled...it would not be the case had this woman done her job properly. Hence, we've begun legal proceedings and have found many allies with similar or the same complaint coming out of the woodwork.

They've messed with the wrong person here! Such is my anger, disgust, wrath, what I am about to unleash will make a hornets nest seem like a walk in the park with butterflies in comparison. Heads are gonna roll!!!
