Don't read If you don't like rants

I just blew up at my wife. It was not her fault, but she just said the wrong thing at the wrong time.  And I blew up.

Why?

Because I have the most asinine jackass fucktard of a boss that god ever planted on this planet!  He is such a fucking idiot!  He is either going senile, or his drinking is getting to him, but whatever, I am so tired of his shit!

No one is authenticating he says as I show him the security logs showing they are!  Install windows 2003 he says, and I say all I have is enterprise.  Try this eval copy!  It wont work! it does not.  OK, install it. weeks later "Look what you did to me!  You installed Enterprise instead of regular!  I am pulling all your Cd's!".

You stupid fucking moron!  Don't talk to me!  i don't give a flying fuck if you are my boss!  You want me to do something you asinine retard?  Put it in writing!  So I can show you where you told me to do it you fucking waste of a bag of bones!

Go ahead!  You install it.  Oh, you forgot that security setting that was dictated by the morons over at the other building!  Don't blame me!  Oh, you forgot that security patch and we got infected?  Don't blame me!  Oh, you set it to auto update the security patches and now you are getting a BSOD?

Blame yourself your fucking retard!  Unless I have it in writing, I don't do shit!  Now who are you going to blame?

try looking in a mirror that is a great place to start for a fucking retard that has the leadership skills of Attila the Hun, and the social skills of a slug!

Fuck off you bastard!

I dont care anymore.  My life is not worth this crap.  It really is not.

Isn't amazing the types of people those above us in our work will actually allow to give orders? The most anoying of all is when you are smarter than your own boss and can't do a thing about it. Hopefully, for your sake, eventually, this will catch up with him. Yes, it will, if you are patient. It's the most fun in the world to watch someone like this get booted for incompetence. It does happen, really, I've seen it. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!

Hang in there!

Techs are supposed to be smarter than the boss (at least in the technical stuff).  They are supposed to manage, we are supposed to do.  Unfortunately, my brain dead one cant understand that.

Thanks anyway.  Dont forget your asbestos smock on our way out!

nice rant doc

"Like rants"... "nice rant".... Who in their right mind appreciates or likes rants. Dr, you surprised me. As far as I am concerned rants like that are so far over the top it causes question regarding the safety of those around you when you loose it. I am sure that wasn't your intent when going off on your wife or this article.

In any event, consider this. In years past I was associated with a men's organization that supports safe homes for abused wives and children to escape to. The stories shared by many of those abused wives starts out with husbands going off on their wives, they end with various forms of abuse. Later those same husbands often end up in jail because they seem to believe such rants are their right.....not so. Have a better day visit the gym.

Titan, while I greatly respect you, you got to remember.  This is a blog.  And this one was not sent out to the masses.  I ranted here as I did not want to take it out on my loved ones.  There is a lot of anger here.  And rightly so.

It is mine to deal with.  You ever run out to the garage and blew up?

I just did.  Do you know who I am talking about?  Not hardly.  I will face him in the morning.  Tonight, I am just blowing off some well earned steam.

I respect you for your success.  Do not fault me for my emotions.

That was a grade A, top notch rant Doc.

Sorry you have good reason to rant. Wish you the best.

That line is solid gold. Fucktard- I've never heard that one before! Priceless!

I think moments like these deserve a nice watching of "Office Space." Perhaps you could relate to that commercial in which the guy talks about how he is working with a bunch of monkeys. Overall though, I, too, am surprised by how little common sense the majority of people in the world have. There's a great quote, "Common sense is the least common thing in the world." Your boss just sounds dumb.

Gee Dr. Guy, you make a guy real excited about the prospect of rejoining the workforce. :~D

Doc, I had jobs like that. I think we have similar careers.

Email me and I tell you where I work now. ([email protected])

That is a great quote! Thanks!  I think I will use it.

Dont let this dissuade you.  I have had a lot of bosses in my career, and very few jackasses.  It is unfortunate that I happen to have one now.  Most of them were really great.

The part that elicited my response was in your post above; you took it out on your wife before venting here.

There appears to be a contradiction in statements. If or when I begin to encounter emotions that could move towards over the top behavior, I head off the gym and or bicycle, think clearly about what my part was in letting someone else move me in that direction and then do something about it so it won't happen again. That might means get another job.

I respect you for your success. Do not fault me for my emotions.

Thank you for the respect. I am pleased you marked it red for adult content... :-) I don't fault you or anyone for having normal emotions. I fault how one deals with their emotions if their off the chart.

She caught me before I could blow it off, so yes a contradiction, albeit a small one.  And I dont do Gyms.  Jogging and walking are my style.  WHy?  Because I dont want to pay someone for their equipment, and walking/jogging gives me time to think.  Which normally is good, but not in this case.

As far as getting another job, I am way ahead of you there.  I may do early retirement and then try to build my business into a going concern (it brings me pocket money, but if I put the effort into it, I would do a lot better).

going for a jog or a walk is a great way to let go of things and bring sanity back to you. I don't know how many times I've left the house just steaming and came back in much better form both physically and emotionally. It's a great stress release. Of course I'm a High School X-country coach who has been running for many years so I'm a bit biased especially when it comes to running.

A thought tho......you don't know what a sponge is made of until it gets wet. While we can't control what happens to us...we can control how we react to it. Your kids need to see the example set in you to make them better able to handle tough situations like this.. Remember values are caught not taught. and a year from now this situation won't mean a thing.

Life is tough.....but the tough keep going. It's ok to fall down, just don't stay down.

Keep on running.....maybe I'll see you on the road.

I think we all have days like this. Don't take it too hard, everyone loses it once in awhile, as for your boss, hell, you just can't fix stupid.

But perhaps you can have the stupid fixed... nah... that wouldn't go over too well.
