What is wanted?

My last wall, the Frog, was not well recieved although it was one of my best paintings IMHO, so I figured I had better find out what subject matter is what you folks really want to see for wall paper. I do not want to change anything about the style I am developing so the subject matter is all that I can change to give you what you want for walls, I know that often paintings are not the best walls as they may be too busy, etc, but it is what I do and my only way of contributing to this great site where I get so much in terms of skins, etc.

Please, tell me what subject matter you would like to see and I will give it my best effort!

Personally, I would like to see you do what you have always done. Lead the pack, don't be a slave to people that don't know art.

I think you should go with what you like but since you directly asked I'll give you my own impression : I really like your pictures but have not been as keen on them as walls since you started putting in people. I thought The Frog picture was fantastic but I didn't download it. I must admit I looked at as to how I could get the boy out to use it as a wall. As a picture (painting) it is so very well done and I admire it but for a wall - for me - I just wanted the frog.

Your work is just fine my friend. Don't change your style, nor your themes. Art is personal.

I love all your pictures. I have downloaded all of them, and when I want a desktop to just gaze at
and be taken away to a more restful place for a while I just apply one of your pictures and I am at peace and the stress just seems to melt away....Keep up what you are doing for those of us who don't want a tec looking desktop all the time.....

You need to change nothing! I have most, if not all your walls and really love them, especially the sailing ship ones. You've got a real talent for what you do, so just keep doing what you do best.

I've always loved your tall ships and the wife like's the castle scenes.

I always thought that the capacity to create 'real' photographic scenes meant you had an ideal opportunity to explore fantasy/fiction....as 'normalcy' can always be had with the click of a shutter....

"The Quiet Earth" - marginally better than "Plan 9 From Outer Space" - (it had less people in it... )

Appreciate the imput and comments. I do like realistic fantasy work. I have sevral things in the hopper (not fantasy) and need to finish those as well as a book cover commission (pleased to say!) which is somewhat fantasy related about a boy and a crow with steely blue almost human eyes. Perhaps after that....

Thanks again!

What you see in your mind's eye, is by far your best work, I enjoy all of it. (But if you do a "Puff the Magic Dragon" it will keep SleepingDragon happy)

My opinion you are one of the top realistic painting artists around. Your art inspired me to aquire Vue Infinite. I really appreciate "STORK" & "Moose", though your ship scenes are awsome thy're just not me. As for frog Top notch nature scene, the frog doesn't quite look as natural as the rest of the image. Do PLEASE keep up the great work, and thanks for sharing.
Hopefully one day I will be 1/2 the artist with Vue as you are.

I just went through a goodly selection of your work and now I realize that the ones I liked a lot were yours. Most of your work is balanced, but to be honest, The Frog is not balanced. The light seems to be uneven to me. It doesnt sit right. Visually my eyes seem to be torn because there are several areas in the picture that the light seems to focus. Pulling my attention away somewhat continually. Your other works are blended very very well light wise. I really like the seashore one.
So thats my humble opinion on the Frog. The premise is good and I can relate to it, but the imbalance in how the light sets in the scene tends to make me loose focus.

You are a good artist!

YOUR OWN!

The middle of the road is where the white line is - and that's the worst place to drive.

I see you, you're needed on What was That!

Thanks for the imput. Skinmallot, the frog was intended to look magical and not natural, ergo the large size and the brightness. Thanks for your comment because the fact that I must explain this means thhere was more work to do on the image so that it would explain itself.

I will just press on and see where it all leads me. Thanks again! and the Best of the Holiday Season to you all!
