The people i think that help Wincustomize the most are....

The people i think that help wincustomize are....

Frogboy(of course): Because he's the one that actually tells us whats going on, gives us important news....etc...

T-Man, Jafo....and the rest of the moderators...: Because they help fix problems...and more of course.

Island Dog: Becuase every now and then he would tell us things that are going around the computer world and tells us about updates that we might use.

Apocalypse_67: Becuase he makes people encorage themselves when he introduces contests. (there also somebody else helping him but i forgot who so can you please tell me your name on this thread)

As for me the only thing (i think) i did good was to bring back commenting on skins.....cause during the summer, no body commented on each other's skins....like i said....(i think)

Well....tell me if i'm right or wrong about who is important here at wincustomize..

oh...yea, if there are people who think that they did something to help out wincustomize, just shout it out!!

When I first found WC I was lost. I had a million questions. I didn't ask them in fear of looking like a moron. At least Bash has the courage to ask and try to fit in.

i mean i guess i should back off for a really long time.

you guys won't see this Bash as nice and friendly......welcome to the new me......

I agree.  That Island Dog is one special guy.

But really, there are so many people here that make this site great, it's hard to name them all.

There is a complete lack of tolerance here from some quarters. It's not hard to see why some call WC elitist the way people get jumped on and savaged. Some folk just don't know how to be nice - guess being pleasant is a lost art...

If you've nothing positive to say, then don't say anything at all.

Not 'couldn't'.....but your opening sentences were less than encouraging/supportive, if not condemning. To me, that's hypocritcal coming from someone who professes to be helpful, community minded and supportive....and that was my point.

Starkers,

Don't you have a tree to hug or something? Any particular reason you keep applying to me in general? Go find some matchbox cars to put together.. YOUR point is invalid is the problem here. Should I act as a clown and juggle some balls for every thread posted? I played along and posted, that's being supportive.

Probably because you hijacked the thread for the worst.

Your're not conflicting you're trolling.

Chris/Edgemaster.....please re-read your post objectively and honestly say there was nothing hypocritical about it.....

"Don't believe in"......atheist's don't believe in God or religion.....abstain from religious services/ceremonies.

"Don't promote everyone"......you only mention T Man, JJ Ying and Mike Bryant....."wouldn't bother downloading" but for those two skinners. Quite the opposite to your beliefs, don't you think?

Fair enough if only those people came to mind, given that there are so many contributors, but the "wouldn't bother" is derogatory and unsupportive of the 'so many' others, and is doing exactly what you criticised the thread for...not promoting everyone who contibutes.

My comments were not a personal attack....just trying to point out how not to alienate or upset others with such comments. By all means, play along....not suggesting you shouldn't, but I am suggesting to play a little more fairly

BTW....I will take up the invite to play with some matchbox cars......been what seems like an eternity since I last tinkered like that....not since about the 1950's as my kids never got into 'em so I could play too

Starkers,

Just my way of words. I meant no disrespect to anyone, especially Bash2cool for making the thread or the other skin artists. :/ And it's true though.. First works I ran across were made by JJ Ying and Mike Bryant by chance.. That's my only point from mentioning them really...

I too like matchbox cars, was hoping I could get a friend in the deal.

You need to find yourself some better kids...

[Jafo]

14 or 44, we're all site members, so it's not appropriate to be singling anyone out, derisively.

The younger amongst us may be rightly afforded more tolerance than the more mature who 'should' be setting them the example

Well..looked to me that a post was in response to the subject matter..not the poster. (Bash) Yet was followed by " leave the kid alone" Its seems your only allowed to comment as long as you agree or sing " Kumbaya " lets all hold hands. Your right ..he has a right to post but we all have a right to respond without being lynched.

Which seems to be the trend these days.

Starkers,

Just my way of words. I meant no disrespect to anyone,

Disrespect can be taken whether it was intentional or not, I just saw how it could have been and pointed towards it.

Not to worry, there are times when we all wish we had chosen our words more wisely.......I've tasted shoe leather on more than one occasion. Looking back on it, my original comments to you could have been phrased a little better.....but we have a truce now, and all's well that ends well

You need to find yourself some better kids..

'Tis a bit late for that, Jafo....tried swapping but they left home before I could get any takers. They now have kids of their own.....not too much play with their toys though.....they're in Qld, me in Tas. Besides, these days I'm happier with kids I can hand back....getting too much like Jack Lemmon & Walter Matthau for full-time parenting

Bash--
There are so many things going on in this thread-- it's become something of a free for all. You have been around long enough to know how our community is. Sometimes it's what you see here, but mostly not.
I've seen enough of you to know that the "new Bash" isn't the one who will show up next time.

Just see this thread for what it is & keep on rollin'

Now for the thread....

Okay, I gotta say Bash, you had a great idea to start this here thread. Too bad there's other stuff going on that you have nothing to do with.

I notice that the skinners you mention are mostly Windowblinds skinners. Have you tried the CursorXP, IconPackager, Bootskins, Logons, Sysmetrix, etc,.....skins. There are names/handles in those categories that you don't often see anywhere else. Some great artists, really.

Igp85, farid nafar, (one of MY favs) Apocalypse_67, david brello...there are many, many people who contribute and are important to the site because they contribute to the products that support the site.

Thanks for reading my 2 cents. Happy skinning!

Don't forget the DTXers like Phoon, Gef, Mountain Dragon and all the others who I'm not trying to slight by not naming, just not enough time.

And scripters like Martin, PJPowell, etc, etc, etc.

Basically everybody listed in the any of the galleries!

I couldn't agree more. My kid's best friend told him how to get rid of the "History" data, which is how his Dad tracked his Internet usage. My son is not allowed on the computer when no one is at home and he thought he'd be OK if he just followed the friend's advice. He's 12 and we are just at the point where we are "trying out" letting him stay home while we go out to dinner, parties, etc. Antway, I checked the interent temp files and the "search history" in the registry and found he had been quite active while we were gone. The places he went thinking I'd never know were Sony playstation sites, Winamp.com, NASA, a lot of car sites and here. Although this was defiance and he got punished for it (lost access for a week and a Saturday to yard work), I was actually quite proud of him. The net is not a place for children IMO. I know many adults who lack the self-control to be here as well.

Bash, I'm glad your here instead of elsewhere. As far as your original topic is concerned, you've got my vote.

Oh, by the way, I asked my son what he thought about this website. The forums are my home page so this is where he started. He said the forums are kind of boring and everyone has weird names, but he really liked the pictures once he found them (screenshot section as best I could tell).
