Alright, lets play a game!!! It's called "Guess who said what!!!"

Here's how it goes:

I will give you two statements that I saw recently made on this site, and you tell me which one was written by a right leaning member of JU, and which one was written by a left leaning member of JU. Ready?!?! OK!!!

Statement number 1: "Fuck you, you asshole."
Statement number 2: "You really are a dumb fucker."

Can't tell who said what?!?! Confused as to who's on the right and who's on the left?!?! Here's one more hint:

Statement number 1 was largely overlooked by everyone except the individual who it was directed at, and the individual who posted the original article.

Statement number 2 was pounced upon by various people, one of them with authority, and was promised a quick and definitive exile.

So then, two personal attacks, both using rather infantile terms, neither adding anything in particular to the topic at hand. The only difference, perhaps, is that one of them (statement 1) was made by a guest responding to a thread, therefore establishing the comments as not only rude but completely unjustified. The other statement (statement 2) was made by the person who wrote the article, therefore establishing the comment as rude but somewhat justified, if I am to take the various statements that you can write whatever garbage you want as long as it's on your own blog seriously. That, and the fact that statement 2 was made in response to statement 1, and so was really more of a defense than an attack. After all, we do remember that you can expect to get what you give, do we not?

The other difference, of course, is that statement 1 was largely swept under the rug and ignored, and statement 2 was put under a microscope and caught in the administrative crosshairs. The individual who wrote statement 1 was ignored, while the individual who wrote statement 2 was promised a swift exile.

Now then: Who's left and who's right?

Actually, I have my ideas what you're implying here, and neither agree nor disagree since I haven't seen the thread in question. HOWEVER, it is obvious from what you say here that Statement #1 was probably ignored for one simple fact: It was made by a guest. It's a bit hard to exile anonymous users.

I meant a registered user commenting on another users blog. A guest to the blog, not a guest to the site.

This would have happened even if that comment was never made, the timing was coincidental.


Except that the reason for the exile was given as the language used.

Anyway, Phil, thanks for letting me clear this up for you, although Im sure its a bitter disappointment to discover its not the clear cut demonstration of Administrative bias you were sure it was.

No Bias.  Bias to shoot a known criminal?  I dont see your point, nor did I see the 2 statements.  I learned that Zink was Dabe late in the game because I dont look for that stuff.  now if you can be more specific as to where to find both comments, I could make a better judgement call.  But how do I know that one was left and one was right?  IN some cases, I may be left in your judgement.

The point is that you, and anyone else who happens to be on the right, can say whatever the hell you please without having to worry about anything. I, on the other hand, have to watch myself whenever I write, because if I happen to say something that LW takes to be an attack or something that Miler finds to be "agressive" (I only mention them two because they're the ones most eager to do it, or at least threaten it, so far as I've seen), they run off to administration and tell them how the bad evil man made them cry and how something really should be done about it.

Dabe called someone a fucker. Baker called someone an asshole and told them to fuck off. Dabe gets exiled as Zink and confined to her own blog as dabe. Meanwhile, Baker can mosey along happily watching the ranks circle around him.

Yeah they were confined for awhile...lets keep it going then, shall we? Look, I"m not saying Baker should be exiled or confined or anything. Quite frankly, I think anyone who can't take being cussed at online is too damn sensitive. But as long as we're yelling at one person for language, let's yell at them all.

I don't, but there's been times when the force of my words could have been enhanced by a certain four-letter addition. I don't normally use that type of language since I'd rather have intelligent debate, but it would be nice to feel that I'm safe in retaliating equally to the tactics that may be used against me. From what I've seen here, I do not.

I think the difference is one person consistently made a menace of herself (hey, I tried to like her, I really did) and the other person is an excellent contributer to JU who had a momentary lapse in composure.

2 things.

One, no the force of your word would not be enhanced.  It would not be you.

2, Baker should have been warned, but since it is not endemic with him, I think that was implied.  Zink was not banished for only that, as the quote clearly demonstrated from Karma.

You make it sound like I'm some kinda constant snitch, but in reality I've only emailed admin twice with complaints about ToS violations since I began blogging here 15 months ago.


Maybe you've only gone and done it twice, but you talk about it often. Whenever someone says something you don't like, you bring up the administration, or some threat based on bringing administrative action.

If I had the time and inclination, however, I could surf about and find PLENTY of examples where her language and tone continued to be abusive


They're usually worded like that when you do it, just alot of stuff about if you had the time you'd look up articles and find misbehavior and report it or whatever so they'd better just leave you alone. It's annoying.

Hey, I said what I said, and at the time I stated that anyone who had a problem with it could blacklist me, or the site as a whole could ban me. I was responding to this line from myrrander:

Now there ya go. I RE-invite administration to ban me, and I RE-invite anyone with a problem with it to blacklist me, and I RE-iterate that myrrander was an asshole to make such a statement.

Feel free to peruse what I post and what dabe posts and if you find me as bad, ban me. Heck, Tell me which of my articles to delete and I'll delete them.

Frankly, though, I don't give a damn what the little Liberal daisy chain around here thinks, because my beliefs and my intelligence are insulted every single time they post. I'm a 'jesustard', and yet 'asshole' is somehow heinous? Everytime they talk about the "idiots that voted for Bush" or the "Christian morons", they are talking about me as part of the group.

If you can stomach making a whole thread about my response to an openly bigoted statement about my religion, fine, hypocrite. If I snap once in a while and say something I shouldn't, fine, as long as the shoe fits.

P.S. It was my understanding that it wasn't the language that Karma was refering to, but the writing style. That line was so obviously dabe.

You didn't bother to even take in the situation. I wasn't responding to the article, I was responding to being called a 'jesustard'. Myrrander knew *exactly* who would be reading and replying to the article, and he knows who is outspoken about abortion here.

The fact that you start statement 1 at my post either shows you didn't bother to understand the situation, or you think "Fuck you, asshole" is somehow worse than smearing someone's religious beliefs.

So, if someone says 'towel heads', they are of course only refering to TURBAN wearing members of the group, and therefore no one who is without turban can have a valid beef with it. Myrrander knows my feelings about abortion, most everyone here does. According to the standard he set up in the response, I do apply as a 'jesustard'. He's baited me with the 'lump of flesh' fetus garbage numerous times. It's his tactic to take things we hold very dear, and crap on them in the most heinous way he can to get a response.

You knew when you were typing that how insipid it was, you aren't that shallow. If I wander in and start talking about Jews, or just the Jews that live in Israel, whatever, you aren't going to raise hell if someone takes personal offense. People respond personally to bigotry all the time on this site, it only bothers you when you disagree with the slur, I guess.

heya Philomedy thanks for giving me a laugh this morning

dunno about that bias thing though, they still let me talk on this ol' website and if they were censoring the extremists on the left hand side of your dial, I think I would be one of the first to go...

I propose in-vitro army recruiters, though, so we can cut out that pesky age gap before age 18. I also think a mother should be given a six month grace period in which she can "return" her baby if it wasn't what she wanted (it's cheap to incinerate things).
