Custom "Now Playing" sigs for forums

Cool media plugin that puts song info in your forum sigs

http://www.sigamp.com/
Just discovered a cool plugin for Winamp (though several other players are also supported), that allows you to show the world what song you're listening to (or even if you're not listening to anything) in your sig graphic.

If you hang out in a lot of forums, it's kind of neat to add a little personality to your sig. (My Usenet reader does the same thing, albeit in text.)

The service is called SIGamp. They have a simple basic version for free users, that advertises the site. For only $1.50/month you can use one of the much nicer sigs available on the site, or even create your own.

Here's what I'm using currently. It's one of the ones offered on the site. I hope to create my own one of these days (artistically challenged though I am).

Oh please.... for heavens sake, at least keep those things out of this forum.

Do you realize how big that is???

Maybe something small next to the avatar would be nicer.

Who said anything about using them in this forum? This forum doesn't even support sigs.

I was referring to the many forums where graphical sigs are very popular. And even in those, they can usually be disabled on the reader's end.

BTW, they do have smaller graphics available, such as this one:

Negative vibes people! He's just informing us of a neat little app...Cut him some slack. Besides...the libraries are full of bigger and more ugly stuff than the little alien guy.

Ahhh...so it's a "robot" alien guy. The little picture is him without his helmet.

I dislike sigs very much. Sure it adds personality, but it just gets annoying trying to read posts inbetween sigs. I'm on DSL so its not a problem of bandwidth. Sometimes I can't even tell when the message ends and the sig begins on some sites (usually the non-graphical types.
Yes I know they can be disabled at most sites, just far too often someone refers to their sig and well you can't see it can you if you turn it off.
Guess they aren't going to go away though, so I'll live with it.
