newb wants to try making skins

hello all i love everyones work here and would like to try my hand at skins, ect but don't know where to begin. i have never learned programing, code or anything like that so i'm looking for advice from anyone on what i should try to learn or do first. thank and i hope to join your ranks with all the great work on stardock.

You don't really need to know programming or scripting. I would suggest finding an app which is fairly simple to create skins for and start there, just to get the hang of the concept. If you have DesktopX, you could try making very simple objects (no coding needed). Some of the simple apps to skin are beatnik, rainlendar, colorpad (if you can find it). Good luck!! It can be very addictive

thanks werewolf, i guess as a get better and more comfortable making window blinds i can move to buying photoshop elements to make logon screens and such? i can tell it will be addicting already since downloading all the great blinds, ect people have already made is addicting too. thanks again.
