Litestep

hi to all

once a program crashed my laptope. i am using normal pc now and i want to download litestep. but i am not sure if it safe. can u give some advice?

Been running LiteStep as my shell for many many years now and it has yet to crash on me. So it's solid as a rock. However, it requires that you are a bit computer savvy and read the documentation. So it's not for the easily intimidated.

If you are at ease with computer problems and know how to deal with them (and reformatting as the solution of all problems does not qualify), give it a shot. If not, stear clear of the 'Step.

I consider myself computer savvy and not easily intimidated. LiteStep is tough, though. Is there anyplace on the WWW that offers simple step-by-step instructions (modules, etc.)?

you can find tutorials in shell-shocked.org, forums in ls-universe.info, modules in loose-screws.com and the theming standard in o-t-s-sf.net, and if you ever have any trouble there's also #litestep in irc.freenode.net

I think you should give it a go

but watch out, it may crash, it has happened to m many times
even on the default theme!

Stick to DesktopX - It's much easier and doesn't crash your PC if you make a mistake.
