Main Screen Stripes

On my main Screen I get large white stripes on either side of the screen. Although this screen does not show it amazingly as the white of the web page blurs into the white i am trying to point out. The most obvious places is around the menu button. It then goes down where the notification icons appear. On other peoples screen shots this does not appear.

We need to know your hardware setup.

Your debug.err will report your system specs.  Is that the only screen that's doing that?

I can make more screens of it doing it if you want. My specs were on lots of my other posts, but I will post them again anyway .

And yes it is the only screen. All the others display properly. Happy Hunting

Luke,
there is a more up to date driver for that video card. You should try downloading it from www.nvidia.com and see if that changes anything.

Paul.

Sorry bout that, I dont look after this computer so didnt realise....

That has mostly fixed the problem but there is a couple of other things i have noticed. The date is not in the box (in fact the box + side seems to be moved over slightly) as can be seen by the way it cuts through a sun.

Also in the middle of the screen there is a planet which has not zoomed out to tactical view. It is colonised by an alien race, but i cant remember which one. Sorry.

Probably that's one of the aliens that didn't have a race logo.  They will all have logos in the next update.  It looks like you're having problems with the texture coordinates though...try opening your prefs.ini and setting fullscreen=0 before you run the beta again and see if it makes a difference.

Yeah, that sounds plausable for the planet. Still the same promlem with the texture coords tho, even in windowed mode.

Hmmm....do you have anti-aliasing on? You could try turning it off. If that doesn't work, you might have to try re-installing it.
Err... no i didnt have anti-aliasing enabled. So I tried enableing it in game ( x4) No difference. So I then switched to (x2), again no difference. So back to x4 and tyied re-starting the game. Unfortunately now i get a black screen at start up and nothing.

The debug gave some interesting reading. All those "Cant render anything"s is im guessing the problem. I had a look in the pref.ini to switch it back, but couldnt find the switch. Things just seem to be getting worse, dont they

Anyway, my debug....
