CTD when colonising planets

I can consistently create a CTD upon colonising (first) planet.

First uncheck Skip Moves Left Over From Auto Pilot in the options. AutoPilot colony ship to habitable planet, accept default name and CTD follows.

Can anyone else replicate?

I have never CTDed on colonization. I have on other events, like invastion, and sometime just presing the turn button.

Yes, I have seen CTD while colonizing too!

can someone pleae let a newbie know how to make these error reports


The error report above is from Smart Exception; see Link for a link to the download for the program and the e-mail address to send them to. Note that Smart Exception's auto-send function isn't working, so you have to manually send the crash log via e-mail. (For me, it installed itself in the Common Files directory under Program Files, and dumps the crash log in to the same directory.)

Also, GalCiv2 itself generates a debug.err file in the main GalCiv2 directory. It's not the same thing as Smart Exception though, so definitely use Smart Exception as well.
