bootskin installs fine, i reboot, the new screen comes up fine, but wont log me into windows, it just gives me the "unmountable boot volume" error, but with my default bootscreen it works fine, not one bootskin will give me anything else but "unmountable boot volume" and my comp auto-restarts. any help ? please ?

bezdezzez,
Bootskin doesnt work for everyone, it has been suggested in quite a few other threads to try all of the available versions offered, there are 3, sometimes one of them will work(not for me, but ah well)It has to do with various BIOS systems as well as XP service packs.
Try the other versions and hopefully one will work for you, if not, then unfortunately they will not work for you.

Oh yeah, create a *Restore point before installing and running bootskin, it will make life much simpler in the end!
