One of the tools I use most in CorelDRAW is the Interactive Transparency Tool. There are a lot of great ways to use this tool. I will touch on the most common uses in today's videos. First I must note that these videos are about the Interactive Transparency Tool, not the Lens Tool. You can do many of these things with the Lens Effect as well.

Yeah, Thanks Paul. You just cost me $365.00. Corel Draw 12 is on sale at their site (this month only) so I went on ahead and purchased it(no stores around here had it). Plus I'm getting it next day Air. I think it's probably the best money I've spent. My hubby thought I was joking about wanting to purchase it, but I let him know . Now all I have to do is wait. Anyways, thank you for all your tutorials/videos. They are all great and I have learned so much off of every one of them.

Thanks a bunch for all this, im learning corel in stages, and end up making something new with each stage. You are personally responsible for brining the bar a LOT higher for skinners..

I know it's alot of money Paul but there's also updates and help that you can get when you can't get it through school software. Besides It'll be mine and not someone elses. My husband did say I couldn't get nothing else for 4 month that's costly (I can live with that). Paul, I have had so much fun learning new stuff with the videos that I really would like to try my luck at making nice looking icons, etc. and I think I'll be able to now. I've purchased icon software where the icons look good until you make it into an actual icon then you end up with an icon that's a few pixels off. I've tried making the bubble icons with photoshop from the guys tutorial that made the icandy icons. His looked good mine made my eyes hurt/pain .I have finally made a nice looking something following your videos(ok, atleast it don't make my eyes hurt). I figure, practice, practice, practice and alot of questions, questions, questions (for you )will make perfect. Heck by this time next year I might be done finished my very first good icon

I am using Illustrator CS (want to swap to Corel Draw after watching your tutorials!). Does any one know if there is the equivilent of the interactive transparency tool in Illustrator? The only way I can get a gradient transparency is by creating another object to use as a mask.

I've tried the trial IllustratorCS and I couldn't find an equivilent to the interactive transparancy tool either. And that particular tool is one of the main reasons I will probably purchase the CorelDRAW software at the end of my trial.

I own Illustrator 10,  but have not used it in over a year. Last time I chaecked I could not find anything as simple as the Interactive Transparancy tool. You can do fades like it, more or less, but I dont remeber how. I am sure it is posible, if not as simple.

Paul, Paul, Paul, help me out here. I watched both your videos and have done everything the exact way as you said to do however(this is a big however)when I go to select one folder and export, the four others that I have lined up are exported to (aah well, like I said I was doing things just like you even down to duplicating the folders).Anyways I was wondering if I might have missed something. I've watch the video over and over again to see but I can't come up with nothing that I have missed. So again I'm left with copy and paste on a new page. I've tried unlocking the guide, locking the guide going up to each thing and selecting them all and nothing is working. Shoot I've even tried grouping,ungrouping,ungrouping all, locking,unlocking----should I keep going? I really got the hang of making the folder.That was easy,just looked difficult but now I just don't know what to do with these five (in all) folders to make them individual instead of that ugly stretched thing with five folders(gosh,it does look awful).Please help if you can. Maybe you need to do a video for dummies oh well)

You need to select the Objects you want to export. And then make sure the Export Selected Only checkbox is checked in the Export Diologue.

Thank You Paul, that's what it was the export selected only box wasn't checked. It never even went through my head to open up the options box until I was pondering what you meant, cause I didn't see it until I clicked the options box. Anyways, Thanks a whole lot for letting me know.
