I'm concerned . . . seems there was only about 50 games sumbitted on the weekend. That doesn't seem like very many . . . I'm not seeing too many new faces on the boards either these days, do you think that the GC retail release has pretty much maxed out? Do you think the general release of the Beta will revive consumer interest in this game?

Not a pleasant topic I know but skirting around the issue isn't going to magically help SD any. :notsure:

I wonder if one day this Metaverse will just disappear without warning? I'm a pessimist generally (ask anyone I know) but can't ignore the decline in Customer Support (I know the beta development takes priority but still) and the decrease in Metaverse activity and submissions.

Mabye it's just the case that not many people like to submit games? Who knows? Nevertheless there are literaly hundereds of inactive empires and individuals registered . . . whats going on?

Welcome, DarkHobbit! Excellent nickname! You would fit right in with the Fellowship of the Ring Empire, should you decide to join an empire.

I agree that the lack of games submitted is not a warning sign. This is the time of year when most people are outside doing things and enjoying the nice weather. There are longer periods of daylight and more time to do other things. Plus the game has been out for a while and new ppl are getting more and more infrequent.

But I believe when the XPack and winter arrive, you'll see the boards light up again and there will be more submissions. Besides, there are a good number of us submitting and having fun...so what if there aren't 1000 people submitting games every day?

If we get some more mods submitted (and some good scenario-editing tools), it'd give them more selling power, something else to talk about, that's gotta be a good thing. (For the record, I'm thinking up a few random events, but they're all G-rated...)

Actually... this is a single-player game, so what could be a good selling point is SCENARIOS! A collection of very different hand-made map positions (maybe at a more advanced state of play than day 1), making you try new tactics in each one. Like GOTM, but more as a collection of different-themed scenarios than just a set of one-offs.


I'm thinking of the Half-Life/TFC/CS combo pack...

Now there's a plan, Quack! :D Let's quit our day jobs, move to Michigan, take over Stardock, move them to California for cryin' out loud, and become the next global dominating game developers! Granted I can't even program in basic at this point, but I know how to order people around. LOL ;)

true, but in concert with my other idea detailed in the "FAQ DL VS CD" thread, it would certainly be doable. For that matter, even the current exausted budget is not a barrier that can't be overcome.

Granted I can't even program in basic at this point, but I know how to order people around.

There are some great suggestions here . . . I mean truely amazing.

I just wanted to say that I didn't intend to offend or upset anyone at SD or on these boards with this thread . . . thankfully it seems most of you understand that, which is good.

Practically all of you have tried to offer some constructive critisism and provide realistic suggestions which is great!

Except that "Ctotal" jerk, what a ning-nong! Should definately be exiled I feel . . . Snarf LOL . . .

Hmmm, I hope there are many more changes in the expansion pack, because if anyone has been tracking my games, I haven't been submitting any latley.

I'm all burnt-out completely on the game. In fact I'm addicted to MOO3 at the moment.

So until I get back in the game, the Altarians will live, for now...

Hang a sec we have a domain name (I think) trinity-tarot and/or trinitytarot but our online experimental business site is still being finished . . . it's not up until October.
