Software config files

from Stardock Forums

I will shortly be re-installing my Windows 11Pro. I have the following Stardock software installed.

-Object Desktop

-Start11 V2.11

-Deskscapes V11.02

-Fences V5.87 Rev2

Is there a common location for these config files?

If not, where might the individual config files be located?

I want to save these files so I don't have to reconfigure everything after the Windows install.

For

  1. Object Desktop: There is nothing to setup.
  2. Start11v2: Please refer here: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1995702300/Start11+v2+UI:+Settings+backup
  3. Deskscape: I believe there is no known steps on how to do backup on Deskscape setting. For Dreams it should be save here: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\Dreams
  4. Fences 5: Please refer here: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1331331082/Backup+and+Restore+the+Layout+of+Fences. (Scroll to the bottom for location of saved layout/snapshots)

Deskscapes trivia:

If you have created and saved any "Combined effects" (from the "Effects" screen) they are stored in C:\Users\[UserName]\Documents\Stardock\Dreams\Effects\[*.usereffect] files.  Restoring the files to that directory seems to work as I would expect.

Static backgrounds are located in: C:\Users\"your user name"\AppData\Local\Stardock\DownloadedDreams

Animated backgrounds are located in: C:\Users\"your user name"\Documents\Stardock\Dreams

This location "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\Dreams" only contains the Dreams that come with Deskscapes, not any you have downloaded.

Thanks pelaird, I found that 'Downloaded Dreams' folder.
