Start11 v2.49.5 Beta Feedback Thread

With the Start11 2.49.5 (eventual final release will be 2.50) beta release today, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post.  Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.

  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Star11 v2 a better product.

There is a controllable slider in the pinned taskbar shortcuts section. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be there or not

Since reply 19, I've been reporting various bugs aftear each update, but never have I received an answer, nor have the issues been resolved in any update; should I not report anymore? I don't think you are taking my reports seriously and I take time to report them and even record them.

While we certainly appreciate all of them, issues are prioritized on severity, how common, and if any issue can be reliably reproduced (if we cant see it, its very hard to 'fix').

Again, we appreciate the feedback.

I've shared them all with videos, pictures, Windows version, etc. Here's this one: when there are more than 2 monitors there is always one that doesn't have the start menu icon. Thanks!

Taskbar Thumbnail Issue

Enhanced taskbar ON
Taskbar on the BOTTOM
Taskbar configuration CENTER ALIGNED
Hide the start button on primary display ON
Taskbar thumbnails don't appear on hover over the app in the first position on the taskbar
(Once two windows are open, clicking on the app displays the thumbnails)
On all other app positions, thumbnails display properly.

In this same configuration, if the Taskbar config is set to Left aligned or Left start button and centered aligned taskbar buttons, the taskbar thumbnails display as expected.

Not sure if this is new with this version.

Quoting jwhitecotton,

I'm still seeing all of the same issues: no start button, apps on the secondary monitor not showing on the secondary taskbar, etc. with the taskbar on the right of both screens.

I checked the Start11Config.exe when I was on 2.49.3, and it showed 2.49.3. I just updated to 2.49.5 and the exe file shows the correct version.

We simply cannot reproduce what you are seeing nor have we had any other reports since this was addressed several minor versions ago.

If you do a purge \ reinstall, can you still get it to happen?

If you try under a clean boot, can you?
