inappropriate comment

For some reason that I do not understand, someone has left a comment in regard to a start button that I uploaded, which was "TurnOver.".  Sumannn03 is the screen name of the one who made the comment, which has nothing to do with the start button posted, or even remotely related to it. It is a inappropriate comment, as well as being spam, and I find that the comment posted is disturbing and offensive. Is there a moderator who can remove this comment? I do not see anything anywhere that allows me to delete this unfortunate comment, unless I am missing something somewhere. I do not agree with the suggestion behind this unfortunate spam and I want this comment removed!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. It best if you can post a link to your Start button. I think I can report it. But someone higher up can ban/exile users.

Or I believe, you can report it to Jafo.

Thank you.
Basj,
Stardock Community Assistant.

That option is not available in the Wincustomize galleries.

Ahh, that's right. It's early here.

Just PM one of the Mods or myself and any 'problem' comment/post can be removed, along with its author ...;)

Is there a way to add a "Report" button to the WinCustomise post UI that ties to the routine used on the Stardock posts?

Sorry, but I didn't understand what you meant by "the WinCustomise post UI that ties to the routine used on the Stardock posts".

Did you mean adding a report button in the Gallery posts? If so, the answer is no, I'm sorry to say.

If you meant on posts and replies in WC forums, there is one already there.

Yes, that's what I meant. They must be on servers that are not linked in any way.

It seems like Spam has really picked up in the last couple of months. There have also been a few posts that I believe have been used as a coded communication between parties.

You can send a pm to me, Jan, Jafo or Hankers with the url of the Gallery post...I'm afraid there isn't any other way to report them. The forums are a different matter altogether. 2of3 (and others) have wanted such a button, but unfortunately, the Gallery code is archaic (to be kind) and won't support it...sorry, pelaird, I can assure you we want it as much as you, as well as a more efficient way to dispose of the spammers.

The most annoying issue with the way the gallery databases work is that each spam comment has to be removed individually one at a time.  Removing/banning the spammer does not affect the comments themselves.

Ideally there would be a 'nuke' button that removed all traces of an individual from all the sites and all the databases...from any location/site.

If every person who uploads to the galleries actually policed their upload comments and reported them sooner rather than later the spammer would be gone before he propagated...;)

Will do.
