What the hell?...

What the hell?...

what the hell is going on with this site? Not only have I had to register for the third time in a couple of months (second time in a matter of days) because every time I try to log in, for some reason my email is "not on the db", but now, I can't even check out new skins without downloading a piece of software for which I have to pay?... Hello! Sorry, but if WinCustomize becomes that painful to use, from something really good only weeks ago, then I'll get skins from somewhere else. I don't want to have to pay for a software just to download the odd WMP skin. This is ridiculous.

Sorry about the whinge, but this site has been driving me mad for the last 20mins trying to log in, register, find something, and at the end, I have nothing... >

You also at one point was exiled and had to beg to come back.

I have never been exiled.

ahem...Kona...I think you have a memroy problem.  If you would like me to "enlighten" the board about your past, I will.

Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones....

Let's keep away from the personal attacks.  If you guys have an issue with each other, take it to email.  If I see you (Kona) bring up the "Tech Cat has been promoted and I haven't" and "Tech Cat was exiled before" one more time I will no longer subdue the "fist of death".

Fist of Death

Please also remember that you can be a "subscriber" and a "visitor" at the same time

I have been gone for several days but I've missed reading the message board. I have to say it is always intertaining.

i keep seeing admin's post user ID's about the morons in question.. if thats an inside joke or some kind of staff sign language to reveal the irony in someone's posting I WANT IN!

what's it mean?

It is only indicative of them being a WC 'newbie' or an 'old timer'...as to whether they're 'morons' or not is left to one's own imagination.....in most cases the conclusion is not a giant leap

BTW... this thread has started out almost identical to a previous one...( the little blood suckers.) Could be the same person , how very strange.

As a paying subscriber and software purchaser who supports this site with my hard earned dollars, I find it very annoying the freeloaders are even allowed to post here,

I find I must agree with Wibgizmo's statement. It should be a priviledge. Let those who cannot be polite, even when voicing a disagreement, can go through emailing Customer Service. Be ready to pay a lot more for your Customer Service Reps, though.

Way too many trolls and freeloaders coming on board lately and it seems a little shady that the same posts(crybabies&complainers)keep coming up? I think it is a good plan that only people who contribute to this site may post on the boards

Good I like when people mad at me To charge me :D:D:D there is ALWAYS a way to get stuffs free pal!

unfortionately i think if the boards were paying customers only, it would put a damper on people subscribing. the boards give you a community and if people don't have that extra incentive to look forward to, they'd just download their max and move on.

Sometimes I feel really disagreeable and argumentative, but all I have to do is look in on the board here and I feel better. I think that if there is a global catastrophe, and civilization as we know it falls, it is safe to assume that somewhere someone will be flaming Kona via smoke signals or jungle drums.

KG, or anyother admin, wouldn't it be possible to have a shared IP BAN list. So all the sites in the 'skinning zone' will be adding IP numbers. Like that people who missbehave will not only get banned at 1 site but at ALL sites.

Styl...all it would take is one unethical admin/mod and the whole thing falls apart.

I for one would support the idea of only subscribers/owners being able to post on the board.

I believe Styl, that on dialup access, you are assigned a different IP address each time you connect,
then theres the problem of public access 'puters, like in libraries etc.
While a good idea... I don't think it would be possible.
Unfortunately for the admins/mods here... it's all they can do to ban a troublemaker each time one rears its ugly head in here

Oops spelled ya name wrong Styl... sorry

The only thing I find wrong with complete bannage is that people can change. They could come back and get a different nick and a new name, but they cause no problems and contribute to the site. But oneday they accidently mess up and someone finds out who they really are. So should the guy get exiled again for his past actions, ro should he stick around because it looks like he learned his ways. While this doesn't apply to some of the trolls whose only purpose in life is to give other people a hard time and keep coming back, there might be some individuals who learned to be good. So would a lifetime ban be morally correct. It would assume the person could not change, and unless the person did a deed so horrible they should be allowed to come back someday. I would treat exilation like prison. If a person gets caught they go to court (here the admins), the court decides the punishment, a set number of months to years to life would be applied and if they ever caught that person breaking parole they would get even stricter.

just my ideas.

Orion, sorry but I must disagree with you. If only subscribers or owners were allowed to post, where would we get our fun?

Also, the MSBD is a good place for newbies to get answers to legitmate software questions from the more experienced users in the community.

That's right and here at WC you also get the "Exiled" title for free too

Travis.....people rarely change at all....though they say they will.

If a person is a pain in the butt now, it's safe to say he'll be a pain in the butt in the future - sooner or later, irrespective of what wondrous changes occur in between.

What we DO hope however is that an initial 'pain' may be accidental, being unfamiliar with accepted conduct, and behaviour will be tempered to suit.

If that fails to eventuate then it's time to speak softly and carry a big stick....
