Haiku skin request

from Stardock Forums

Hey all,

I'm a long, long-time Stardock user and fan. 

I really need a good Haiku (BeOS) WindowBlinds skin!

It needs to work on Windows 10. I won't move off until they fix some things, but future-proof it so it works on Windows 11 also.

I'll pay $50 for it.

Plus, you can release it as a master skin or whatever you want. In other words, I won't own the rights or anything.

Please contact me if you're interested. I can provide UI screenshots and testing! :-)

I think you have some unreal expectations there, Kody.

I'm not a skinner, but the amount of time needed to create a skin for one person at $50 is hardly realistic.

Worse, the skinner who would probably do such a skin is on the injured list at the moment and will be for some time. Maybe another Master skinner might be interested.

I figured it would be a tough sell. :-) I know it takes way more time and effort than $50 would afford.

But I thought maybe others would chip in by saying they'd buy a master/pro theme...

I'd probably go as high as $100 for it, if it looks really good and works smoothly!   ;-)

Maybe we can get Stardock to make a "proposed master theme" and allow us to prepay. If enough people sign up maybe someone will take on the project!? Wishful thinking probably.

Not a terrible idea at all, Wiz. Just be patient and see what comes along in this thread. All the masters will read it eventually and maybe some or one of them are willing to jump on the wagon or have other ideas. Could be a cool community project, maybe? Been a while since one of those. ;)

This sounds fair, coming from someone who has had 2 WB Master Skins commissioned myself. The results are absolutely amazing. Also you can easily create several sub colour styles yourself very easily, giving you possibly, 4 or 5 WBs in one.

I have to ask, what are the "injured master skinner" references about? 🙂 (Link?)

I'd pay more for a matching cursor, icon package, and start menu!

Also out of curiosity, is there a way to create the system menu of Haiku these days? I used to have a cool set up using ObjectBar or something like that (?). But that isn't around anymore.. I'm not sure how customizable start10/11 are. I don't think it supports what haiku/beos does. But it could be made to look nice and similar.
