WindowFX, wobbly windows, in Windows 11 doesn't work correctly when HDR is enabled.

Same thing happens to me. My main monitor is Asus VG27AQL3A (DP) using HDR at 180Hz, 2560x1440. I also have a LG D2343 (HDMI) at 60 Hz, 1920x1080.

If I disable HDR on the main monitor the wobbly effect works OK.

Has anyone found a solution?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to confirm you on Windows 11? Need to know its full version and OS build number. Use Winver.exe.

Thank you.

Hi r6d2,

Thanks for posting, and sorry to hear you're having trouble with the wobbly effect in HDR.

I've logged your experience internally, and hopefully a fix can be found.  In the meantime, it would be recommended to have HDR disabled for this effect to work.

Internal Ref: ODNT-8470

+1 for WindowFX support on HDR displays. I am also experiencing WindowFX Wobbly Window color distortion on my Alienware AW3821DW display when HDR is enabled.

I am running the latest version of Windows 11 23H2, with an Nvidia RTX-4090 GPU.

Also want to point out that the wobbly window effect is unaffected by screen refresh rate higher than 60. I use 144hz and it lags as its running at 60 and not at my refresh rate like other system animations. I pointed this out a year ago and nothing came from it.
