Who in the world grades these ScreenShots??????? You Decide : Fair or not

You do know ratings are over rated right? I never go by ratings.

Probably me......I get to see one hell of a lot of them and generally rate them between 4 and 8 or, in other words 'mediocre', as they are JUST screenshots.

People with auto-posting privileges get a '6' automatically so where exactly is your problem?...

It is in the FAQ, actually one of the reasons for having a FAQ on a site is to answer
such questions.

Ratings How & why are the files at WinCustomize rated? Submissions to WinCustomize are rated so that visitors to WinCustomize have an optional method of sorting skins. This allows someone to view skins based on how other people have rated that skins. Most download sites also use a rating system. Whether its a 4 or 5 star rating or on a scale. At WinCustomize we use a scale of 1 - 10 where 10 is the best rated and 1 is the lowest rated. Since some skin authors disagree with the rating system we have decided to not allow the general public to view or rate the skins. The skins can still be sorted by rating but the actual rating is not displayed. To be able to rate a skin you must have either a Apprentice access level or higher, or have a Customer Level (User Level) or either 3 or 4.

As for Leo's screenshot, all the elements tend to integrate well...more a 'theme' than  most shots which are a hap-hazard amalgam of disparate elements...

The average screenshot gets less than 20 views a month...and you're complaining about a rating?

Im not complaining, Just curious on how others would rate it. Would not of hit submit if I knew that I would be ridiculed the way I have been. Im sorry most and maybe everyone does not like the Screen Shot section, but I do.

No biggie...Personally I would rate the 3FX one the highest...but that's just my preference...The package looks pretty smooth.

MT........my ears were burning they never lie........beg or plead with Phrozen Menace or Diafragma for their Apollo Rainy........get the Winamp skin in docx's screenshot........get rid of the desktop icons......and i will give you a 10

Keith...it's important to understand that the moderation process results in an INITIAL rating....which can be amended by others as and when they deem such is warranted.

This goes for ALL upload sections. If and when others view the upload they are entirely free to post their rating 'opinion/preference' as well and 'theoretically' the more ratings posted the more 'accurate' the work's valuation.  That is all...

Keith........Jafo is spot on........he usually is......To give you an example just over a week ago i saw a skin here which had been rated a 6 by one of the mods.........i rated it an 8 and two days later after other people had rated it too, it reached an 8.

Thanx Leo, I only use the Desktop icons to show what DesktopX can do, to take away the Background color for the text. As far as the rainy, I used the DesktopX Calander. (but i understand what you mean) Sorry for the comment, As for your ears I was really refering to the other two with the same WB.

Thanx Joe, and Leo I agree, I cant personaly make the themes, but i can show off the work of others for their great work. In every SS i upload i give credit where credit is due. All Skinners spend alot of time making these themes, At least i can Recognize them for it. And yes trying to bring more Sports to WinCustomize.

As for the GROW UP Comment, Im not trying to start anything, its just im a big Sports fan, and yes a little competitive.


To change the Subject, Why wasnt Rainlendar A part of the New Section Poll? That would be a great section for WinCustomize.

I'm sure my desktop shots would get quite low ratings - they're not quite minimalistic enough to be truly minimalistic - but many would find them to be quite boring. I don't care. I like 'em.
