Sorcerer King error with Windows 11

Only shadows show up instead of any of the characters. See image in link for example

I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 11 (not recommended). When I downloaded Sorcerer King and tried to play, only shadows of the characters are showing up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled plus verified the integrity of the local files but the problem remains. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Computer specs:

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Graphics   3.80 GHz Ram - 32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable)

Thank you for your reply and the link. I went through the list and did find an update for my video card (radeon 6700 XT since that got deleted from my original post) but that didn't fix the problem. As for the other suggestions, these files don't exist on my computer - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Sorcerer King\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Sorcerer King\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2005

There is no "The Sorcerer King" folder. I only have a "Sorcerer King" folder and it does not contain any of the files listed after it. So, I'm not sure what to do about that. I'm not trying any overclocking.

It would seem Steam has modified the path for the redistributables.

The new path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\

In there look for the folders

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2005

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010

And run the files mentioned in the FAQ.

Go into the folder
\Documents\My Games\

Rename: SorcererKing
To: SorcererKingOld

Then try verifying integrity of game files:

  • Right click on the game in your Steam library
  • Select Properties
  • Go to Local files
  • Click on Verify integrity of game files

Try to run the game again, please.

Please go to the in-game options and try changing some of the display settings, namely Resolution and Anti-Aliasing, possibly Dynamic Shadows as well. You will have to exit and restart the game for the changes to take effect.
