I need to remind all here that we have a beta for Start11 and that it was updated just today:

There is a Stardock Update folder located at C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Start11\Update.  In the update folder is an installation file named Start11_Setup_sd.exe.  It is ~41 mbytes in size.  Can this file be deleted once the file/Start11 is installed?

Suggestion

Please make it possible when having multiple Start pages to re-order them with drag and drop.
E.g. Microsoft Launcher on Android.

Thanks

meanwhile I found a bug in start11, I set the taskbar to be fully transparent but every time I boot the system only one monitor has the change applied. so whenever I change the setting with start11, it is applied to all monitors, but if I reboot the system it will not keep the transparency setting for the other monitor.

Quoting luiscamino,

Quoting LT1Z51,

YES.  It's in every version. 1.0, 1.01, 1.1, and 1.11 Beta.

It "flip-flops" which screen is broken.  But ALWAYS one of them is.  Sometimes it's my primary, other times it's my secondary.  Windows 10 20H2 is the version I am using.  (it's Windows Enterprise as this is my work computer).
that's exactly what's happening!! almost never centers both monitors, and one of the monitors is left aligned, randomly. super annoying!

i doubt it's fixed in 1.11 beta because the release notes don't mention anything about this.

i'm not using any display manager. just stock Windows 10 20H2.

also, i purged the app and reinstalled it, didn't fix it.

Does it happen under a clean boot under a new Windows admin account?

I've been meaning to try the aforementioned "clean boot" suggestion but I'm afraid I can't do this. This is a company computer with several services that can't just be disabled even for debugging.

As far as I know this is a known issue. Is a fix in the plans? Or at least a built-in workaround (like "Center taskbar in both monitors yes/only on primary monitor", that would already be an improvement).

Running Dual monitor display but Start Menu is only centralising on one. Sometimes it is the primary, othertimes the secondary.

Any ideas?

First of all, I want to congratulate you for this application. It's great.

I've only been using it for a few days, but I find it very useful.

I would like to make a few suggestions:

- The space that separates the groups is very narrow and this makes it difficult, sometimes, to determine the group to which a specific icon belongs.

I suggest that this space be wider (as in the original Windows 10 menu), or the possibility of modifying the size from the configuration options. A separating line or being able to apply a different background color to each group could also be useful.

- Icon description text only uses one line, unlike the Windows 10 menu which uses two lines, allowing longer names in the same width.

- It would be interesting to be able to change the description or name of the icon directly from a context menu option, without having to go to the folder that contains it.

thanks for all

Getting back this morning to my pc and getting it out of lock state (not sleep), I found the Start menu in an odd state. I have a Start with 2 pages. All icons on the 2nd page have vanished and it is blank now. On the 1st page the whole set of app groups has been duplicated below the original set of groups.

Restarting has made it even more of a mess, consolidating same icons in same groups and the 2nd page has vanished entirely.

I had the same issue and fixed it just by adding and then deleting a group.  That seemed to force something, somewhere to reset.

Windows 11 Version 21H2 (OS Build 22000.434)

Issue: Open file location doesn't work for shortcuts saved as LNK files (i.e. website, Steam game). The said website or Steam game is opened instead.

Steps to recreate the issue:

  1. Use either the "Windows 10 style" or "Windows 11 style" Start11 start menu
  2. Right click on a LNK shortcut (either pinned to start or from the apps list)
  3. Select More -> Open file location

@EyeOfTheHawke

Thank you for responding to my issue post. I have tried, but that reset doesn't work with me. Maybe I am missing something. It is app groups that I am referring to, no app folders.

Me also.  I added a group and when I moved an icon into it from the group with the extra dropdown the dropdown suddenly disappeared.

I then just moved it back and deleted the new group.

The All Apps link was gone and has not come back.

We seem to be in a like boat. I see no other way than to remove and re-install. Not happy, as rebuilding my Start menu takes time. Hope Stardock can get their software more stable.

Bug

I have purchased a license and re-installed Start11.
Rebuilding my Start menu, when I drag app icons from the all-apps list to the 2nd page, it occurs that not only a shortcut is created on the 2nd page, but on the 1st page as well.

Win 10 Style: Start Menu > Quick Access Shortcuts List: Can we get the three-line hamburger stack put on the top of the list - so it can be widened to show the Titles of the Icons (as real Win 10 does)?

Stardock Support folks haven't been on this forum for over a month, so nobody's getting answers. Am I wrong?
