Problems hosting and loading multiplayer saves with friend

So I'm having an issue with the multiplayer. When I run the hosting test it says it cant find my IP address. and I tried clicking the alloy button and unclicking it and it says the same thing both times. Also I can host somtimes but after getting into a game saving it and coming back later it wont load for my friend or myself. Please help

While this reads like a firewall issue (try with all off), is your friend able to host successfully?

I tried the shutting off the firewall and that still doesnt work. And now I cant get the game to start at all. It does work in Dev mode. but when I try to play internet multiplayer it says I have an old version of the game. I have tried validating all files, uninstalling the game + deleting all files on the computer and then reinstalling and still it doesnt work. Please help!

Try windowing the game:

Running the game windowed:

Try navigating to this directory: C:\Users\{USERNAME}\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Setting

Then open the rebellion.user.setting file and set this option:

VideoIsWindowed TRUE
