I'm here to tell you. You are wasting your time running an Object Desktop setup with Win98. I have it solely for my old games and programs that won't run in WinXP. Mainly, old dos games. But for Object Desktop and that extra lovely advantage, Cursor XP, nothing beats WinXP. WinXP is so much more stable. Everytime I boot Win98SE I just hope it doesn't crash on boot up. lol. WinXP is definitely the next step to the perfect OS. So, take out your six shooter and send Win98 to boot hill. Then, get WinXP and come join the beautiful people. (OMG. Did I say all that!!!)

some of us already have XP, we bought it retail but can not use it on older systems and can not afford a new system.

WB is a fantastic addition to W98. Granted, it's now at its best in XP, but it still does wonders for W98. Although I don't know how much difference you would actually see between WB 3.5 and a WB 4 on 98. Many of the ehancements on WB 4 can only be used on XP. I think the delay is in part SD trying to figure which way to go with 4 on W98....try to work around MS' GUI and memory limitations on 98 to skin more if possible or concentrate just on improving performance on 98. (I think one of the SD folks may have indicated that previously in a post or message somewhere.)

I think the earlier thoughts for a debut were late summer or early fall and perhaps now by at least by the end of the year for a WB 4 for W98 and ME. Just have to wait and see.

I wish they wouldn't waste their time with it. But, I guess it has to be fair to everyone. I guess you can't shut out those who don't have WinXP. But, they have WB3.5 and that works with most skins. I wish the developers would spend more time getting the All Programs area skinned myself. Sheesh, its been ages and it still doesn't work at all. Although some clever skinners have got around the problem.
