Galaxy Forge- Need some how to tips

Okay I have combed the forums for anything and everything relating to galaxy forge.

I'm getting semi-proficient at it. But one thing I am struggling with....setting start points.

I need to understand how to set a specific player to start in the same location every time.

I saw something about "team index" blah blah somewhere in the forums but no amount of clicking has shown me where that is or how it relates to starting worlds.

If someone could describe exactly how I set this, it would be greatly appreciated, since the whole reason I'm devoting time to making this map is because my friends don't like how long the game takes with multiple stars and I want to make sure we get some Artifacts to boost us up(I DO know how to set artifacts at least)

Edit: Also want to know how to increase the number of random artifacts generated into a game. How do I do that?

Ah yes, a referal to "google"

As if I would come straight to the official forums without combing both them AND google for answers.

Every single how to I have found for Galaxy forge is the basics. Not one of them covers the more advanced items like setting spawns to specific players.

Or customizing a planet to be occupied by a crazy strong independent force.

Or why even though I put a template on a planet saying it should have a large neutral fleet, the gravity well is completely empty, with not even small neutral militia units.

I'm asking for advanced tips and directions, not the basics.

Galaxy Forge will pop-up a templates box if you double-click a planet.

On the bottom left of that panel is a "use default" option which is checked by default.  If you leave this checked, your custom template will not be used but the stock default template will.

Some entries have conditions such as planets owned by Minor Factions have distance and number boundaries that restrict them.  If one of these conditions applies, nothing will spawn at your world.

If you bungle a typed entry in your galaxy file for a world's template (make a typo, leave out a line, etc.) it often will result in nothing spawning (though sometimes you can get an odd weir effect).

This isn't a complete answer to your specific asks but it's a useful aid and not always readily spotted.

Additionally, you can search through this and may find some specifics--though you'll have to do a lot of reading and searching.

I'm a little rusty on the fixed starting points--I'm not sure if I've just forgotten the proper way to do it or if it occasionally breaks.  But in the planet entry near the top is a TRUE/FALSE option for "randomizeStartingPositions".

If I can get time to play around with it, I'll try to get you a more exact reply and hopefully some modding genius who's making maps all the time in their mods will come on and lay it out in the meantime.

Hope this helped some.
