It is...FRIDAY!

New screenshots!

The further you get from Earth, the stranger the planets.

The Codex is designed to help provide background on the lore of Star Control: Origins as well as a "how to play" guide wrapped into one.

Don't want to do any spoilers so I can't really show off some of the other pages. But over the course of your adventure, you'll start picking up a lot of...stuff.

Your ship from orbit.

Just little bits of polish. :)

Destinations on planets are now fully handled by things you can build in the building crafter.

Cheers!

Essential question: If i purchase the game now (its possible, right?), can i play the single-player campaign too, or still the fleet battles only?

I definitely intend to buy, but was OK to wait for official release. However, now i have my 8-years old niece here at holiday, who is bit whiny, cause without mum, so i want to distract her with a new game - i was thinking either Subnautica, No Mans Sky or Star Control... SC being the one i would be interested too....

Another question, is this game for 8-years old kid? Or too complex?

That depends more on the 8-year-old.  8 year old me had no issue with SC2.  Others?  It couldn't keep their attention span.

I like stuff, but...what about things?
