Updates with no Patch Notes?

This may seam like a trivial thing to the developers, but being both a game player and steam developer (Star Fleet Armada: Rogue Adventures),  it's very annoying to open Steam, see a game download a new update, but then get NO information regarding the update that just happened.

As a developer, I always have my patch notes done and as soon as I make the new build live, I would put the patch notes so that they showed up on the screen you see for that game. Allowing you to read them while the game is being patched. Even if the patch just fixed some small issue.

There was a small download last night to SCO the adventure one, and then again this morning. But no notes what is was about were posted anywhere! If the patch just fixed a few small issues, then let us know. I have already played the hell out of the dialogue in the SOL system and would like to know if the founders (not the ones selected to participate in the new phase) will ever see anything outside the SOL system prior to launch? Each time I see that a new download happened, I check out the forum to see if there are notes regarding it. If something big has changed then I play, if not I don't. This is why it is so frustrating to see the game being updated with no information regarding it.

I'm afraid pre-release builds will not have patch notes.  After release we will supply patch notes.

That really is a shame, and I hope you re-consider, as I share dennlyc's view. My visit to the forums today was simply to try and figure out what the latest download was about.

Just not enough time.  Pre-release patch notes would be incredibly long.

I believe we are only looking for the things that have been fixed or changed in the part of the build that we have access too, not everything you have done that we have not seen yet. With the latest patch we did get a synapses of what was changed and fixed, which helps us in our testing. I think what most of use are looking for is more content opened up to us for testing. Perhaps getting us out of the SOL system. There is still textual dialogue without audio in the little bit we have been shown. I would imagine making sure that all textual dialogue in the entire game has audio would take more eyes that just allowing a select few. I sure hope you decide to allow all founders to test a greater part of the game then just the SOL system.
