sample desensitization: circa 1927, a man in a small town north of Jackson , Mississippi was seen kidnapping a 12 year-old girl from a schoolyard. other witnesses saw him fleeing through town with the girl in the car. when the sheriff's posse caught up with him in the woods, he was burying her body after having raped and strangled her. the occurrance of this type of a crime was so totally shocking and unheard of back then that a mob in excess of 3,000 men from 5 different states surrounded the jail, caved in the wall with a truck, and ripped the perpetrator limb-from-limb in his jail cell. nowadays we see crimes like this once a week, feel very sorry for the victim and family, and very soon have completely forgotten all about it. what was once intolerable has been rendered ignorable by repeated exposure and desensitization.

i'm talking about societal trends, not complaining about art, NOT equating the separate evolutions of art and crime, so don't jump on me.

I don't see anything wrong with the human form.

If the screenshots showed a sexual act, or some sort of hate action or speech, then it would never be let through.

The human form is very natural and not something that I would consider a moral or ethical topic of conversation.

I guess a should quit wandering nude through my house for fear that my 4 year old will see me?

I also don't believe that seeing naked people (I'm talking just the human form, not an "act" of any sort) will cause degradation of society.  There are many places that women can walk around topless and people don't care.  It's the human body- get over it.

KG - i agree with you about the naturalness of the human body, but i'm more comfortable out in the public eye with clothes on - and i suspect that for all your liberal ballyhooing, that you wear clothes to work also.

this is quite true, but there are far, far more places in the world where people do care and won't have it. You should hesitate slightly before blythely belittling the overwhelming majority of cultures in the world.

I wondered why that Wood screenshot got so many views. I was thinking some people have some bad tastes in viewing screenshots.

B1uesummers...I, as a moderator of submissions am still wondering whether you are simply submitting screenshots or are perhaps attempting to see how far things can be pushed...just to be controversial.

On one hand we have blandly unimaginative screenshots of no intrinsic creativity and on the other we have the female figure in various degrees of 'undress'.

I personally am more 'bothered' by the inanity of the screenshots than their perception of 'raunchy' content.

Try being 'creative' and imaginative, rather than controversial....no-one really cares for 'Piss Christ', you know... 

BTW...this also applies to your latest upload '2 Psychopaths'....clearly an attempt tp push the limits of 'good taste'....pretty pathetic when you consider the spelling is so off as well...

Why is the spelling off? How is that screenshot in bad taste? I think it looks rather cool.

Like I said with the other one, just get rid of it. I'm not putting up a fight with it. Personally I think there is a lack of "character" screenshots in that section. Too much morphing/plain looking walls all over the place. As for the wood one I thought it was a nice change of pace in the overall look of pics. Nobody seems to want to use wood and even I don't but that doesn't mean it's not refreshing to see. I got the wall purely for the wood background. If I could I'd delete the girl in the wood background because she's not even that good to look at. Either way It's up to you whether I'm pushing the limits because the moderators decide whether it gets uploaded, so maybe "you're" trying to push the limits. I like a pic, want to see if others like it so I post it. If it's too much then bye bye pic and no hard feelings.

'pyscopaths' is really great spelling...says a lot for the educational standard of the alleged 'artist' of the wall...and considering the importance and prominence of the text it's pretty banal... It'll stay in moderation until there is a 'popular' opinion of its motivation, worth and relevance.

You do realise we at times get submissions that are very definitely in poor taste, be you Mother Superior or Marilyn Manson and are rejected outright.

Others just push the limits and may be 'borderline'.

The wall depicting some alien bug-like creature messily copulating with a naked woman on a beach was one of the 'rejects', as was the homage to 9/ll a collage of photos including the scene of people falling to their deaths.  I guess Joe Public is blithely unaware of the crud that gets submitted in the name of God-knows-what, but it is the prime reason that moderation of submissions even exists...

I find it offensive that anyone would post a thread with the word "slut" in it.

I can't help it if the person who made the wall couldn't spell. I don't think it hinders anything because its not like I was creating a poem and every part meant something. Here's my desktop, like it? Hate it? Do you have an opinion or have you found a skin that could make it look better?

That's all I'm looking for when uploading a screenshot.

Not picking on any body in particular but I think its funny that people keep posting about how they are offended by the title of the thread and by doing so keep elevating it to the top of the message board

Actually, you can 'help it'....if it's such a great wall apart from a few problems, as you mentioned...why not try your hand at modding the wall..correcting errors and removing the text line that you don't like....doing that would at least show creativity....whereas some people submit 3 or 4 screenshots every single day for heaven-knows what motivation, except perhaps 'look how quickly I can change my undies'...
