Nasa's Big Push to get to Mars

The Martian Society

I read the complete comment about our radio waves not escaping the "Milky Way"because of the

enormous distance and the weakness of the signals since radio communications were first

invented - this is a valid concept and it may be exactly why we have not seen more visitors.

The mysteries of our planetary system and those fascinating words
"The Universe" will always be perplexing and intriguing to all of those who
wonder what is out beyond this wonderful blue planet called Earth. As our
"Star-Trek" and "Star Wars" fantasies have stirred our imaginations into a frenzy
of excitement with the romantic notions of unlimited space travel, I have some reserved
thoughts about the things that one may experience. Going into space "where no man has gone
before" may not be as exciting as it seems. I do not adhere to the "Big Bang Theory" because it is
just a theory and nothing more, but I do believe in intelligent design & engineering & purpose by
intelligent thought that has overcome the limitations of this "Universe" including our marvelous solar
system. I am constantly amazed at the uncharted egos of university educated doctorates that in the scant time
period of 20 to 30 years have convinced the population and their colleagues that all their theoretical
hypothesis are the rock bottom truth because they can persuade others to agree with them.

If some one removed your link that is wrong. I also believe god created us. To much of science hints of creation, not evolution. Evolution keeps disproven every time they try to prove it.

Some say we were created by God, some say we were interbred with/by aliens, some say we just evolved from apes, some say we evolved out of the oceans, so many theories!

But then you have to think, if we were created by aliens, who created the aliens? If we evolved from apes, then who created the apes? If we evolved out of the oceans, who created the ocean life?

Some also say God is/was an alien, so who knows ...

In the end it does not really matter, we are here regardless of how we got here.

No-one removed a link, however the Op edited his thread for a typo.

Well, by definition of what an alien is, technically....

Yeah , the other day I walked into my local Waffle House and my favorite waitress said ...."oh my God , you again ?"

I replied , "You are correct"  :-"

Maybe so.  You got the waitress at Waffle House to talk to you.

Who created God? Man did thousands of years ago to explain the world around him. What he did not understand he attributed to a higher power. Everything this side of creation has a beginning. If you look at all the diverse cultures that have arisen over the ages you'll notice that all have done the same thing. Whether they are polytheist or monotheist doesn't matter. What does matter is faith and faith demands respect. Something sorely lacking in today's world.

Back to OP. Going to Mars has been a dream for decades. If and when we finally get there there will be truth to the saying where no man has gone before. What an adventure that will be.

Okay.  Then who created man?

See.... I knew you were older than dirt. ;P

And now, being you were there, we'll have your 'almighty' explanation on creation and the why-for's of life as we know it.... or think we do.

I do have a theory but I've been sworn to secrecy due to interplanetary security concerns since Star Fleet stopped going where no man has gone before because of budget restrictions and a fuel shortage caused by aliens who like to drink the stuff in copious quantities.

The one thing I can say that we can all agree on, and without fear of reprisals from the Federation's higher authorities, is that we're here.

If we were created by a god then should it be ashamed of itself.

Calling the "big bang theory"merely a theory really shows your lack of understanding of what scientific theory means. You can't just ignore the mountains of evidence that support the "theory" by simply saying I don't believe in it so I will ignore it.

who created god. Why did he have to be created. Man did there is no proof behind this only logic. The same logic could be said reverse. If god appeared wouldnt there still be a record of him. Wait there is. Your logic with countries work with everyone except Israel that came back from antiquity.

Humans created God to help bring inner peace and common goal

Humans created Money to fill all your waking hours to earn it.

Think...What if there were no God or Money...

Actually I've looked at both sides, and there are compelling arguments on both sides. Your link doesn't work. The reason it is a theory is that they can't find enough evidence to make it a law. I'm sorry you are calling an associates not an education. What degree do you have. This doesn't include the hundreds maybe more hours on none thing, but on carbon dating... My question how much have you read on creationism; because, I read a lot on evolution. If we didn't have money we would have the barter system. Money and literature is a natural progression from what was originally pictures, so is computers. Again where is the proof that man created god, and god didn't appear to man.

I have a question is if matter is steadily slower than light then wouldn't as soon as energy became matter wouldn't the matter then get outrunned by light. Now as matter got bigger then wouldn't the light basically seem that much faster than matter. I'm talking about back ground radiation. Background radiation is emminating light which is 300,000 kilometers per second. Now assuming we are from one center point. Then light from that center point would've out runned us a long time ago. Based on a 13.8 billion year old universe it wouldn't even have worked; even, if it was from the universe was 300,000 years old. If you are saying that this light is constanting emminating then you can't say we are recieving the same light. Yeah can you answer this question for us uneducated laments like me.

Yes, I thought it was time to end the conversation. :) Religion is always a difficult subject. The problem is that if you put everything into faith, then that is all you need. You don't need to look for answers, you don't need to test your assumptions or your values.

Luckily we have the scientific method that does allow up to hypothesise and to test those theories to see if can get closer to real understanding of the world and the universe we live in. Arguing with theists doesn't get you anywhere it just like arguing about gun control or politics.

I have no problem with people who believe in a god or gods. However, dismissing science because you don't agree with it is not just irrational it is dangerous. It is the reason we have flat earthers, anti-vacination hystery, holocaust deniers, evolution deniers, moon landing deniers the list goes on. Who cares about supporting your arguments whop cares about empirical evidence?

@rg-gs I am not sure what you are on about - taking credit - taking credit for what?

Of course, as with Good old Politics, threads relating to Religion/belief will always be contentious, so remember not to debate the person , ONLY the topic, otherwise when it gets to name-calling it will all end in tears [and a closed thread]...;)
