Quoting Volusianus,

Off-topic: is it just me, or did the Gal-civ 3 trailer have an aesthetic akin to Deadlock and SCNot3 combined?

Yeah, man, I always think of Deadlock when playing GC, art-wise, especially the aliens. Aw, I loved Deadlock :D Accolade's last great game.

I think aside from Eradicator, Deadlock 2 was the last game of theirs my dad worked on. But I digress.

I know it's been mentioned, but I think (I could be wrong) the music we got is not QUITE identical to the tracks we got before. Same songs, but mastered differently.

^ Are you sure? I meant to check it and make a music feedback thread about it.

Quoting SabreRunner,
SC2's soundtrack was so great because you had a bunch of people contributing their best efforts, rather than one person handling all of it.

Or doing what was originally done and ask the community at large to submit compositions for consideration. Heck the Precursors team did an amazing job with the remixes, I'd be surprised if no one else was interested. Of course, perhaps Riku has an exclusive contract.

Bruh, the can of worms you just opened. No, but seriously, I'd jump on the opportunity in a heartbeat. However, I think this falls under the same umbrella that "we can't accept founder art" does.

Thanks for the backgrounder on the game engine and asset streaming.

Looking forward to Super-Melee.

I really like the scale and look of the planet/moons and ships in the Story Talk section, although the 'StarControl Station' overlay on top of the planet and station looks a little weird and in-the-way.

Ship Stuff - I like the pretty image. Perhaps there is a way to compact some of the modules together so that they are still distinct but more integrated?

Can hardly wait to play.  Or did I already say that? :)

I am sure there are many issues with using community submitted compositions. The largest one, it's a slap in the face of the composer you hired. Unless of course he came into your game with that understanding.

The other issue I see is that the community is rather underpaid(since its a labor of love) and then gets upset when the game does really well financially.  Also if you use someone in another country, there can be all sort of pitfall employer laws you might not be aware of.

Better to release a game that allows modding and the community can add, fix, rearrange to their own personal preference.

So after reading the PDF a second time a few things stood out to me.

"If you help gather the missing pieces and some resources for repair, they will show you how to hook up the missing hyperdrive module to your ship so that you can leave the solar system to seek out other allies before the Scryve reach Earth."

Does that mean we could choose not to help Tywom and set out on our own? I'd like an option to try to win without allies, of course there would be no guaranty this would work.

I'd prefer if in the game there would be no indication that there is precursor weapon in the solar system and just something you could stumble upon.

From an ingame perspective all information we have upon the Scryve is from the Tywom. When we encounter Scryve ships I think it would be hilarious if we had the option to greet them with messages of peace, like "We come in peace", "We extend the hand of friendship", etc and they would just brush us off or insult us. Sort of like the apology attempts with the VUX from SC2.
