When will we get the december update?

Or I should say...by the 31st.. ![]()
Am I the first one to catch on? Thanks and enjoy the rest of the holidays.
Great update. I really enjoyed reading about all of the tough decisions that had to be made. It's especially interesting (to me) to hear how the gameplay experience weighs against the technical limitations/challenges.
The latest human commander uniform reminds me of the uniforms from the Wing Commander games. All of the concept art and screenshots still have an art direction that feels right to me for a Star Control game.
What's that supposed tâĤ oh. Happy new year!
Multiply that by several hundred founders and that's a lot of time.
So what you're saying is that you don't have time for us. Noted.
EDIT: I see that you are actively responding in another thread. What changed?
I am not sure if you are referring to the fact that he is smart and has a game to work on, while answering each individual question just wastes his time and leads to delays. Or you are making a snide comment that he isn't holding everyone's hand through this whole process? It is better to take the questions worth answering and put them in the monthly update that has come out around the same time each month.
I don't get why some people need their hand held by the developers or their feelings get hurt? Just keep sharing and if they like your idea, you will see it down the line.
Stardock has a history of being very open, up front, and in-touch with their community. This was done in spite of any lost development time.
However, the SCO team (Andrew, not Brad) has not followed that path. What you are observing is the general level of disappointment many of us have with the level of communication.
We aren't asking if they like our ideas; rather, we are asking for more information because we were asked to give feedback on systems that are only partially explained.

I agree with you.
Did you happen to see my effort in December to collect questions to be answered in the monthly update?
How many of those questions got answered in the January update?
^ While they are asking for some feedback, I don't really think they're asking for it out of need, but rather to keep us occupied until anything alpha rolls out. That's what it feels like for the most part. And the initial Founder's program was a Pre-pre-order essentially with a couple of bells and whistles. If they did it today, they would be in exact same position game development stage wise minus the money. Not that it's a big amount either, but I was still hoping for:

and this

It would be nice to see the options they are considering rather than see the decisions they have already made. The only decision I feel like the community was involved in was Super Melee. I was in South America without internet when all the really important decisions were made like ship abilities.
On the other hand, game devs are artists and have a certain vision for their game. I can imagine it is very hard to objectively sit back and really let other people weigh in on that. Brad mentioned that he has fallen in love with this project, so that has to make it doubly hard to want to give info before you are ready.
