This is not a real-time strategy game. It's closer to an adventure game.
I recommend playing Star Control 2 Ur-Quan Masters. You can get an open source version of the game from
here.
hmmm
thank you. I did gave it a Try and played it for like 20 minutes, i will keep playing it for a little more to understand better the game..
so far.... its been really basic and repetitive when you go into a planet to pick up radioactives, etc...
just was doing the first mission with the space station but did not finish it, still i don't understand when the ship pick up some and then i guess it gets full
then i go back to the mother-ship and cannot find a way to unload what i picked up, weird DOS game lol.
Have you seen the reveal trailer? If not, check it out. It'll answer some of your questions. Also, read the update threads here when you have a chance. We're under NDA to reveal particular details about SCO, but I can answer some questions.
SCO is not an RTS. That should answer most of your questions. It is real time adventure and real time combat, much like original Star Control 2 (Ur-Quan Masters) only bigger, better and badder.
Yes i did see the trailer like 20 times and it looks interesting, just going around a planets picking up Iron and other thing to upgrade and do missions like ( go pick up 50 irons from this planet and bring it back to me and flying around Milcky Way from planet to planet picking up ore) is that all?
when your fighting or doing Super Melee is always 1 ship against a bunch? there is no group of ships?
I am just trying to understand what kind of game will it be and what features will it have and use
so far it does look that it will be a Real time game and that's great but what else?
I am not asking for videos or pictures of the in game but some more info so i can make a decision for buying the game.
I hope any of the dev's can answer my questions
Update: I did play more Ur-Quan Masters, and did try Super melee, this game may not be for me, but I will wait to see more videos and ingame play before I make my decision
Thank you guys.
