NDA Clarification

from StarControl Forums

Can we please get an official NDA posted and stickied here for reference? I'm keen to raise both awareness and interest in this long-awaited project, but also want to make sure nothing I do is in breach.

 

@Vaelzad, you said a few days ago (over here) you were getting confirmation of a point from higher ups, but I can't see anything further on the matter - do we have clarification yet, or still waiting, or am I just blind?

I would like to know if the founder's rewards are covered by the NDA. I would also like to have Stardock give us a recommended image sharing website to use that would not violate the NDA.

Thank you for bringing this up.  I was meaning to do a fresh post about it since I was the one who originally questioned it.  I suspect with the holiday weekend won't get any response until Monday though.

I'm fairly certain that anything in the Vault would be a no-no in terms of sharing. It contains design documents and rejected concept art that normally wouldn't see the light of day outside the studio. Sharing rejected concept art without context or explanation could be very damaging as it would skew people's expectations of the game.

Now that I'm typing it out I realize my "P" theory is pretty much void.  Lots of sci fi stories have the ancient extinct race everyone chases after.  Mass Effect has the "Protheans", Halo has the "Forerunners" (which kills my "P" theory) and Star Control has the "Precursors".

Anything posted in the Vault or Founder's forums cannot be shared. No screenshots, videos, etc. that might come out.

You can of course talk about the game, but Founder's topics should stay in the Founders forums. :)

If there is a screenshot from the vault (or eventually the closed alpha) that I want to mark up, how would I share it on the forums? I need to host it somewhere. Does SD have an approved image hosting site?

You can use anything that won't show publicly. I recommend Dropbox or OneDrive.
