Wow!!!

I don't know why it came too me, but I got an E-Mail about the Star Control Founders Program and that was the first I'd heard of a new Star Control.  Star Control II is my best memory in my entire gaming life.  I had played SC1, and got SC2 the first weekend it came out.  It was the only game I have ever played, and I have played many, that I literally could not stop playing until I finished it.  I played SC2 that entire weekend, I think it was 42 hours straight, until I finished the game.  I couldn't stop to eat.  I couldn't stop to sleep.  I just couldn't walk away from it until I had finished it.  No other game has ever done that too me and I can't wait to play a new Star Control.

 

I used to design games and was certain that I would never care about becoming involved with game design again... but this is Star Control!!!  Hopefully I am picked for the founders program so I can offer my opinions to the developers, something I never thought I would have an interest in again but am really looking forward to with a new Star Control.

When I read the other post about it being spam, I panicked and freaked out! Thanks for the reassurance.

Do you guys have an ETA of when they'll go out? Or rather, should we expect them sometime after Thanksgiving?

Yes, I just got an questionnaire to apply, I am not in yet.  I hope to be, and never thought I would want to do something like this again.  But for Star Control... I would really enjoy offering my opinions to the developers for Star Control and it will be like re-living my younger years as I used to do that a lot.  In fact, long ago I was a member of the SFB staff which was kind of the first ever organized effort of gamers assisting a designer with his game.  I did that whole thing in the very beginning, and for many years, and never thought I would want to go back to that.  But I'd love to help with Star Control and top-down space combat is my primary area of expertise in games.

We expect to begin sending invitations out next week but it'll probably take awhile to go through them all since we're manually going through each one.
