The subject of music has come up in other threads, but often gets lost in the midst of other gameplay topics, and I felt it would be worthwhile to have a topic where we can exclusively discuss music in Star Control.

While it's official (and exciting!) that Riku Nuottojärvi has been brought on board to provide music, one of SC2's greatest assets were the various artists individuals involved in the development of its eclectic soundtrack. I know that there are others here who feel the same way because the variety of musical styles from different individuals lent the game a great deal of its unique charm.

I can't expect Stardock to necessarily take the same approach, but speaking as a musician and composer, I know I'm in good company as there are others here who are also incredibly passionate about the music of this franchise. I'm hoping this thread will allow others to openly share content and thoughts with one another and that Brad, Andrew and others on the development team will be able to gain some insight and inspiration about the kind of music that we'd all like to hear in this new game.

I myself have both a personal site and a Soundcloud playlist set up for some of the Star Control tribute music I've written since Stardock announced development of a new title over two years ago.
